GREEN BAY, Wis. - Brett Favre left Green Bay on Wednesday, most likely for good. While he has gone home to Mississippi for the time being, he could end up in New York very soon.

Fox Sports reported on its Web site late Wednesday night that the Packers have traded the quarterback to the Jets. The report said the exact compensation wasn't immediately known, but is believed to be a single draft pick that increases in value depending on New York's performance during the season.

I still don't think the Jets can make the playoffs yet alone win their division. I thought he was going to go to the Bucs.

I agreed with that statement because their defense is not good enough and yet to be develop their new offense for Favre.

Rocks blocking shots on guys with dreadlocks
favre is stupid, i cant believe he got talked into going along w/ the jets w/ ppl selling him that the team is ready to win now. yeah they spent big money on FA's during the offseason but that offense still has pretty much pedestrian guys at the skill positions although thomas jones is a good back if their O line actually blocked and leon washington is explosive. that being said i still doubt they make the playoffs and even though im neither a buc/jets fan (eagles fan here) i was hoping he went to minnesota to increase the drama this season. that would have been great to watch him at GB w/ the vikes on the opening MNF game

Yeah, I had hoped it would happen. You know, Favre is worse than Kobe being a prima-donna and a male diva because he wants to feel happy and that the Green Bay Packers wanted to kick him out after his retirement announcement. Just think of it. Lakers and Packers should be embarrassed on this kind of situations because they're wasting their time and their breath. If a player doesn't want to play in your team, move on and forget it!

I'm not much of a football fan but I think the Jets will at least be competitive this season. Like Brett said on the interview you can have the greatest players on the planet and get nowhere because you got no chemistry as a team.

I think that Mangini or (Mangenius) is in limbo because he have the blockbuster QB. He is not in a good position to breathe within himself because if this team miss the playoffs, he's gone.

Well if Brett plays like last year they might have a slight chance of winning the wildcard. Again it all depends on how the offense responds to Favre. Firing a coach just because the "blockbuster" deal didn't go as planned is just foolish. I mean why on earth will you trade for a soon to be 39 year old QB in the first place.

Which would obviously make them better than they were last season - but not exactly the situation Favre was looking for.

I wish he could have gone to Minny or TB.

You know, things that the Jets did was foolish because they can not get anybody good. To be honest with you, the management have failed along with the Jets despite the success of Namath and after Namath's era was gone, so did their standard and motto. Ppl always forget who the Jets were.

Agreed and this is why I said that the management deserves all the blame and not the coach if this doesn't pan out as planned.
