We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. Here is a little update on our 2nd round pick in this past draft.

Orlando Magic draftee Milovan Rakovic recently scored 31 points in a Russian Superleague game

Milovan is adding toughness and rebounding to the squad while showing his true value to the team after being selected in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic

In the recent EuroCup 2008, with his Russian team Spartak, Rakovic averaged 13 points, 6 rebounds and 60% shooting in an average of 22 min only. He had games of 15/6, 19/4, 31/3, 11/10, 11/7, 10/4 among others.

He is the third leading scorer on his team and 2nd leading rebounder. He shoots 60%, the best on his team. Milovan takes the most shots and makes the most on the team, by far. He is not a big shot blocker, same as the rest of his team (and many europeans). He also shoots 70% from the free throw line. Yet his minutes are significantly less than many of his teammates.

These were his rankings in the cup:
Quote:

Ranks #2 in Field Goal Percentage (60.2%)
Ranks #5 in 2 Pts Field Goal Percentage (60.2%)
Ranks #9 in Field Goals Made (5.6)
Ranks #6 in 2 Pts Field Goals Attempted (9.2)
Ranks #18 in Offensive Rebounds (1.9)
Ranks #20 in Total Rebounds (5.9)
Ranks #6 in 2 Pts Field Goals Made (5.6)

Stats from previous competitions:
Quote:

Participations in FIBA/FIBA Europe competitions
U20 European Championship Men - DIVISION A 2005 (Serbia & Montenegro)  PPG: 3.4, RPG: 2.1, APG: 0.1
U18 European Championship Men - Challenge Round 2002 (Yugoslavia)  PPG: 5.5, RPG: 3.5, APG: 0.5
U16 European Championship Men - Final Round 2001 (Yugoslavia)  PPG: 7.3, RPG: 5.4, APG: 0.9

Hes got some upside so im assuming he will be in the summer league. Maybe he can get a shot at the roster and play if Gortat wont play.

Interesting. Not bad for a guy who was basically an afterthought in the draft.

I rather would have wanted Reyshawn Terry from UNC!

You never know with the 2nd round picks, there could be a lot of hidden gems. We'll have to keep an eye on this one and see what happens.

I think every Magic draftee nowadays is an afterthought.
