No one can slow down Chris Paul anyway, so it doesn't matter.

For what it's worth, Paul went 0-for-5 with 7 assists and 3 turnovers when Arroyo was in the game.
He went 6-for-14 with 5 assists and 1 turnover when Dooling was in the game.

YOU BET YA JAMEER WOULD'VE DONE WORSE!!!!!

See that is EXACTLY the difference between Arroyo and Jameer!

Jameer would've kept shooting the ball and would've gone 2-11.

Arroyo knew his shot wasn't there so he stopped shooting.

Vis a vis Paul missed 13 shots.....hum....wonder who was covering him.

Yeah, yeah I know....Paul was missing shots....but that's why Arroyo stayed in front of him.

I couldn't agree with H2H more.  Dooling did a poor job of defending Paul......

No. You mean SVG saw Arroyo was not playing well and shooting poorly so he took him out and put in Keyon.

Yeap that's why we won the game right? (after having 14pt lead) ;)

So you guys can't admit that Arroyo did a better job at defending Paul than Dooling did?

Is this because, some of you posted at the beginning of this thread that Paul was going to destroy us because Arroyo was defending him? ....and some of you say that I'm biased.....Funny!

Arroyo is not a good defensive point guard by any means so lets just leave it at that. There is no way he did anything to stop Chris Paul, the possible MVP of the NBA.

Dooling is a much better defender than Arroyo and that needs no debating. We did not lose the game because Arroyo was not in the game. We should have won it because of that fact. Dooling played better an thats that. It was Rashard's fault that we lost because he passed up the shot and Dooling was not expecting it.

Actually yes I did watch the whole game and I wrote a long recap in my blog. I pointed out where Arroyo did a good job drawing the two offensive fouls on CP, but thats about all he did good the whole game. There isnt anything else to add.

I don't hate Arroyo at all, just talking about him like he did well drives me nuts because he sure didnt. I don't get what hating him as anything to do with this.

Arroyo was a +7 and Dooling was a -10.

But I think we're deluding ourselves if we think Arroyo would have won the game for us if he played the fourth quarter.

he should probably use that aggressiveness out on the floor to dominate on the defensive end when he isnt getting the ball instead of sulking and getting his head out of the game

yeah we did a s**t job of getting him th ball but dwight decided to quit in the 3rd qtr and let pargo, and paul outhustle him for timely offensive boards and the numerous alley oops they got in that qtr b/c dwight didnt hustle back on defense

I agree with you. He still has a lot to learn in staying in the game mentally when things don't go his way. Sadly we are asking the kid to be the leader of this team but he still has to learn that mental toughness part of the game.

But then again, I thought the problem with the rebounding on this team (and Matty has mentioned this several times on the broadcast too!), is that the rest of the team seems to just wait around for Dwight to get it. Last night, they failed to box out. That was the main reason they gave up too many offensive boards.

See the thing is... I don't mind calling out any player because I'm not biased against anyone (except maybe Pat). So when Arroyo sucks, he SUCKS. Same with Nelson. And all the other guys too.

Matt also mentioned that Jameer Nelson is a great rebounder at point guard and he could've helped in that department.

He might've been able to. That's a decent point.

Jameer just have to know where Dwight is and keep his distance and he'll be OK.

Jameer boxes out though, which is a good part of his game.
