I think Carney would have done good here. He's stuck in Philly and JJ is stuck in Orlando. Trade?

Eh... well hes like JJ in alot of ways. Carney is a pretty good shooter(holds record for most 3s at Memphis), not the best defender. In contrast, Carney is really athletic, a great dunker, and alot taller than JJ at 6'7". But i dont think Philly would trade him because hes young and has potential.

But just for kicks, the deal straight up would work.

:O

Because trading away an unproven 10th-man who doesn't fit a need is TOTALLY the same thing as losing a future Hall-of-Famer in his prime to free-agency and not getting anything in return.

Carney is pesky and long on the defensive end of the court. The point is these guys can crack the rotation and have some success, especially brewer who I think is avg. 11 ppg a good defender, a good all around play which alot of us said is what this team needed.
Anyway Brewer was my pick.

I would much rather have Brewer than Carney also. But hes a starter now on one of the best teams in the league. There is no way they are stupid enough to trade him. We would have to basically give a star for him - not worth it.

If anyone wants to check it out, I just posted a new topic about this kind of stuff - free agency and the questions that will need to be answered this offseason.

I think if Carney were given the chance, he could do just as good or possibly even better than how Brewer is currently doing. Philly DOES need a 3pt shooter to replace the departed Korver. I know Philly wouldn't be that stupid to trade away Carney because how athletic he is and the different things he can do on the court. The Magic should have definitely thought of what to do in the draft but JJ wouldn't have been a bad pick if we would give him enough minutes to play and prove himself instead of giving him garbage minutes like Garrity and Marcin Gortat.
