I cant stand him or his arrogant attitude.

"We've talked and he's made it clear that I'm not going to be in the rotation. There's nothing I can do. Right now I'm just thinking about my future and I'm working for that more so than trying to get in the rotation. I don't think I'll be here a long time. I think Stan is going to be here a long time and his philosophy and my phillosophy don't really go together," Redick told Hirozawa.
He will never get anywhere with that horrible attitude. You do what the coach says because you get paid to. There is no such thing as "my philosophy" J.J., its SVG's philosophy and thats it. Anybody who has played on a sports team knows that all the other players hate guys like this.

He should keep his mouth shut about this whole situation. It does him no good. I understand the frustration. I've played on teams where no matter what I did, I could not crack the rotation and the guys on my team even thought that I should have been playing ahead of the guy in front of me. So I understand.

I once predicted Darko not to be in Orlando long; I've had the same feelings about Redick ever since we drafted him.

Redick is used to the big city atmosphere, used to being the man. I'm not saying he'll be a star somewhere, but he'll certainly get playing time in this league and it won't be in Orlando. Redick is too cocky and has too much of an ego (traits that have helped him succeed) to sit around waiting for a small town team like the Magic to give him a shot. Either he'll find a great dig elsewhere (a la Diener) or he'll slowly begin to realize he's not as great as he thinks he is and later on accept whatever roles he can get.

He wants a shot, and considering how much of "the man" he was in college, I can't blame him. My only problem with it is that he's demanding trades now, so early in his career, instead of waiting things out like better players before him have done.

Rocks blocking shots on guys with dreadlocks
he plays well in the garbage time he gets w/ no pressure but whenever stan puts him in meaningful minutes he thinks hes gotta do s**t like drive to the hole like hes hedo and turn the ball over but mostly the problem is that his defense really sucks during meaningful minutes

he let willie green end the sixers game on us w/ his defense

and another thing like tonite i see JJ running around all over the court like hes rip hamilton and moving w/out the ball and getting shots in garbage time but when he was getting those meaningful minutes all i saw was JJ chill by the 3 pt line or do a halfass jog around the baseline w/out the ball

maybe if he put that garbage time hustle in during his meaningful minutes then he would crack the rotation

Redick gets out on the court and thinks he can be the Duke Redick; owning teams and scoring at will.

Unfortunately, he hasn't had much of a shot to get out there and play consistent minutes and learn how to adapt his old college game to the new game of the NBA. I don't blame him too much for doing what he does when he's out there, mainly because he gets so very few chances to show his stuff. It's got to be embarrassing for a college super stud like him to be sitting on the bench while an arena of fans around him are chanting his name in the final minutes of a blowout win. He's got to feel like Darko did when he was playing for Detroit - a human victory cigar, a joke player.

I hate Reddick with a passion. I use to like the guy at Duke but the whiny fan base and his mouth has pushed me to this point. It disgusts me that he is demanding a trade when he's not even good enough to get playing time. We could've had someone better than this but our piss poor scouts prove once again what a joke they are. I knew he was doomed when Dickey V was all over espn's draft coverage saying how good of a draft pick this was (remember this is the same man who crucified us for taking howard). The fasters he's gone the better. I'm going to try and pretend he doesn't play for us so I can feel better. Knowing we wasted the 10th pick on him pisses me off.

I can understand JJ's frustration, but his reaction to the situation is not helping at all. Otis should have just granted his request and sent him to a team in the West and get a PG or PF in return. With the way his handling this - his trade value is taking a hit.

Well our whole bench gave him a standing ovation after each bucket he made.

Drafting Marbury + Foyle = Championship. \o/
If what he says about his talks with SVG are true (that Van Gundy told him that he's not gonna be in the rotation), then I don't understand how people can blame him for wanting to get out of here and think about his future.

It also makes me think why did SvG praise his effort on training a month ago, saying he was doing everything right and then tells him that he's not gonna crack the rotation. If I was JJ I'd be fuming and asking for a trade ASAP.

And Otis said he was virtually untradable a couple of weeks ago. lol

The kicker is that Bogans is balling so well this year that with the teams’ defensive holes it makes sense to put defenders in the 2 spot. Sorry JJ, it ain't going to happen, unless of course you grow two inches and learn to play three positions. No? Well then shut up and wait till next year. Which by the way he will do, I read it on his blog (tip from florida today) where he said he is grateful to be part of the team and is not going to talk about playing time anymore. So good for him on that account.

The more I think about it the less likely it seems that JJ will fit in here at all, long term or short term. For instance lets say the Magic bring back Dooling for his defense, leadership, and combo guard skill set. Then they use the mid on a starting quality talent, most likely another 2. Bogans re-ups, they may sign Evans back on as a back up 2/3 versatility guy, Battie gets in the rotation backing up Lewis and Howard, Cook too, and where does that leave JJ? Riding the pine.

That of course is an expensive option for the Magic and they may go cheap and not use the mid on one guy and not bring back Dooling or Arroyo. In that case Turk could play the 2 with Battie starting, and Redick would have a chance at beating out Bogans for the back up spot. Even that is iffy, and it sure would suck for us fans.

To elaborate on this post... check out this latest post by J.J. in his blog.

http://www.redicklive.com/redick/blogDetail/253

I have a link and a report about it on my blog, Bold N Blue if you want to check it out.

But, I think J.J. is wise to drop the issue because the most important thing is the team. We have a playoff team with high aspirations and we don't need any one guy causing dissentions around the locker room.

Why should he play?? Aren't we winning? If we weren't winning, then we should try different starting lineups and different rotations. The fact is JJ can't stand being a bench player when in college he was the best player arguably to ever play. I understand his frustration, however, he shouldn't go public with it demanding trades. We should've traded him though and gotten some worth for him because his trade value is only going more down.
