Good game, good win.

Great game defensively from Jameer. The guys on 580 were gushing. Howard with a monster fourth quarter, good games from Turk and Lewis. Arroyo got eaten alive by TJ Ford, but played pretty good offensively.

Can't wait till Dooling gets back.

idk but foyles play has really gone south after the all star break, i cringe everytime i see him in the game now

At least he is only signed for the vets min. It's not like he's expected to do much besides come in for Dwight now and then.

SVG admired the way Dwight stayed focused throughout the game

Quote:

``They were missing a great player and it looked like we were too,’’ Van Gundy said of Howard’s first-half disappearance. ``For Dwight, it was a good game for him and a step forward. Games like that in the past when he’s had foul trouble and not getting the ball, three shots in the first half, one point, he’s had trouble staying into the game. (Tuesday) he was fabulous. He got into the game. It was a very, very big step for him.’’

Patrick Ewing may have something to do with that:

Quote:

``(Assistant coach) Patrick (Ewing) talked to me during the game. We had a game earlier in the season where I was really frustrated and it took me out of the whole game and (Ewing) said he didn’t want to see that again,’’ Howard said. ``I had to take a step forward for my team, stay composed and play my game.’’

Rashard Lewis on the second game of back-to-backs:

Quote:

``In the beginning of the year we were one of the best back-to-back teams in the league, but we’ve struggled lately,’’ said Lewis, who along with Howard and Turkoglu was a combined 17 of 19 from the floor in the second half. ``(Tonight) will be more of a mental thing for us.’’

It's always a mental thing Rashard ;)

he was a damn good garbage man in the beginning of the season, now he cant even grab boards w/out fumbling them away

I really think Gortat should be given the chance to contribute. I think he has more use than Garrity right now. Since Otis has not added anyone that can grab a rebound and play defense on spot duty, maybe they should take a look at Marcin.

I agree. He needs to be given a chance. Forget Auggie, Garrity, and even JJ. Id rather see Marcin. He is the most unproven player, and we don't want another one of those slipping away.

An exciting game! I thought the defense was good, especially from guys I didn't expect it from, like Cook and Nelson. I love the hustle from Foyle, though he does leave room for improvement....

I don't want Marcin to leave and end up doing somewhat decent on another team if they sign him. We must give him a chance. He's a 7 footer who can come in and get some rebounds for us and possibly help out on our post defense.

Marcin actually looks better than Foyle in there. Of course his a rook and will make mistakes but hey he has to learn it sooner or later - I really think we can use him. And I believe SVG does too - that's why he has been activated and getting some PT albeit small.

He's only played 3 minutes of complete garbage time. Who knows how well he would perform during a real game scenario? (my guess is worse than Foyle)

When Dooling comes back, I expect Gortat to slip back into his XXL suit and hit the bench.

We won't know until he actually gets meaningful playing time. My guess is the Magic will take a look at that possibility once we secure our playoff seeding.

I am not suggesting that we play him instead of Foyle. What I mean is that we have been looking for a some additional body to bang and get rebounds and he may already be on our bench. If we are able to suit up Garrity despite the fact we already have lots of shooters why not Marcin.

We need to get Gortat in the game in like the 2nd quarter instead of playing the last 3 minutes of the 4th when we are already winning by 20+ points.
