I never realized Ellis was drafted so late in the second round.

We're not the only ones kicking ourselves over that one. Damn.

Ask, and you shall receive.

... and I'm spent.

I liked your blog. I can't believe we could've gotten all those players and instead we ended up with basically nothing. Good job Ben Q Rock!

Again, Euro stats mean nothing.

If you read in the article, it said he played very well when surrounded with great talent because he would receive open looks.
Well that would be the case if he played here.

Exactly. Well said man. The article said he can't be the focal point of the team but if he plays with talent, he can succeed. I'm sure he can fit the NBA style of ball.

Dude, Anyone that tall and long can play in the NBA, look at calvin booth for christ's sake. If he comes over, he'll bring a block or 2 and maybe 5 rebounds 5 ppg. Whatever, I dont think this guy is going to do anything significant if he comes over here besides filling a need.

That just pissed me off....

From the article:

Imagine Monta Ellis throwing lobs to Dwight Howard on fast-breaks, or Paul Millsap hauling down some much-needed offensive boards.

How about Granger in the mix as well. We probablly wouldnt have had to sign Lewis. Wooooooow

He has a decent jumpshot so he can keep the defense honest and also provide at least decent stats. We don't really need someone avg. 10+ points at that position we just need help on the boards.

I guess that's why Otis is the one scouting the college players - it could be the reason why Otis does not have time to do deals or look at the waivers. He is doing Twardzik's job - maybe Otis is on to him.

Vasquez is just another name on the long list of potential talents that I'm still anxiously waiting to see make something happen. I think, euro numbers aside, that he still can bring some interesting elements to this team. Hopefully in two years...

2 years? We've been waiting already long enough he needs to prove stuff now if he comes over. I doubt he does though.

Vazquez stunned the Magic in June of 2005 when he refused to come to the NBA after Orlando had made him the 11th pick of the NBA Draft. He has instead played the past two seasons in Spain with professional teams there.

Vazquez told a Spanish newspaper this week that he is ready now to come to the United States and play for the Magic. Smith said assistant general manager Dave Twardzik and international scouting coordinator Sam Foggin met recently with Vazquez and his representatives. But Smith said any talk of Vazquez joining the Magic next season won’t get serious until he negotiates the 7 million Euro buyout of his contract.

"If he comes over here now, he’d basically be playing for free,’’ Smith said. "We’ll continue to monitor it, but there’s not much there right now.’’

I thought this was posted before but I don't remember where.

At this point, I'm convinced Otis just likes taking trips to Spain. I'm going there for my honeymoon, so I'll do my best to convince Fran to come over and play for free too while I'm there.
