...in your dreams!

http://www.draftexpress.com/article/Scouti...8-Copa-del-Rey/
Quote:

Fran Vazquez, 6-10, PF/C, Barcelona, 1983
4.9 points, 1.9 rebounds, .4 assists, .8 turnovers, .8 blocks, 47% FG, 67% FT, 14 minutes

It seems pretty likely that F.C.Barcelona wouldn’t mind parting ways with Fran Vazquez and his monstrous contract if he weren’t Spanish and there wasn’t any quota requirement to meet in the ACB League (5 Spanish guys per team). He’s certainly playing that bad.

Vazquez has never been able to come close to his last season in Málaga, where he was surrounded and supported by a bunch of excellent team players (like Jorge Garbajosa) with a very structured game put in place by coach Scariolo. His style was greatly facilitated, getting regular open looks near the basket to exploit his dunking abilities, and in the mid-range distances to take advantage of his jumper.

Meanwhile, in Barcelona he seems pretty lost, exposing his great limitations in terms of basketball IQ, and nothing seems to point towards him finding himself anytime soon. His performance at the Copa was no different, as he was only able to add two points through a dunk.

  Thats our top pick...Coupled with JJ/Augustine/Gortat...We have nothing to show for the past 3 years' drafts.

This is why I think we should bring Weisbrod back as solely a consultant for draft night. Weisbrod might have made the worst trades in history (McGrady/Francis, Mobley/Christie) but the man sure knows how to draft. He took Howard over Okafor and traded for Nelson! That's probably our best draft ever!

This is the biggest reason why Otis should not be so stingy about giving up draft picks on trades. Their draft picks have been horrible.

Again, Euro stats mean nothing.

If you read in the article, it said he played very well when surrounded with great talent because he would receive open looks.
Well that would be the case if he played here.

Not necessarily. "Meanwhile, in Barcelona he seems pretty lost, exposing his great limitations in terms of basketball IQ, and nothing seems to point towards him finding himself anytime soon."

If he can't play against the talent over there, imagine what happens when he plays over here.

Fran plays a physical NBA-type game. Not a finesse man.

Him picking to stay in Europe after we drafted him is proof enough he sucks.

Maybe his IQ in general (not only his basketball IQ) is questionable.

I bet he is going to be the Gooden-Euro version with the brain farts and all.

Exactly. Well said man. The article said he can't be the focal point of the team but if he plays with talent, he can succeed. I'm sure he can fit the NBA style of ball.

Dave Twardzik drafting, ladies and gents!

It's good that we have Foyle, so we can remember who he drafted higher than a ton of great stars in that draft for Golden State years ago.

Foyle went 9th.
T-Mac went 10th.

Somebody please make a new post of Twardzik's past draft history. I'm excited to see it! I know of a few but I need to know them all.
