Rasheed Wallace is an All-Star for the fourth time. He's not thrilled.

"I'd rather be a Bahamanian," he said after the East team practiced on Saturday.

Detroit's combustible forward didn't plan to spend the NBA's midseason mini-vacation in New Orleans, but he was recently named a replacement for Boston's Kevin Garnett, who is sidelined with an abdominal strain.

So Sheed, where were you supposed to be?

"The Bahamas, man, me and my wife," he said. "She had it all planned out for us. But as you can see I got sidetracked to this."

Wallace, whose volcanic temper on the floor has earned him more than his share of technical fouls, was asked for his reaction when he learned he wouldn't be getting any time away from basketball.

"Hot," he said. "But she was more hot than me. She wanted to do it as a little surprise, but hey, we had to come here. I thought she was going to beat me up."

Wallace missed Friday's required media availability because he, ahem, missed a flight. But is that really what happened?

"It was the real joint," he said. "I wouldn't have done that or I would have not come at all. That was strictly accidental."

All Star notebook

They should have just sent Turk who would have appreciated being there.

If Dwight would of done the birthday cake dunk Gerald Green did, Dwight, instead of blowing out the candle, would/could of taken a bite out of the cake and then slammed the ball all in one motion.

I really didn' think that cake dunk GG did was all that impressive!

Finally got on here...

Absolutely f-ing incredible. That was the most fun I've had watching TV in a long time. The originality, the athleticism, the showmanship - it was unbelievable. The pictures from the superman dunk will be classics.

Oh, and unlike a lot of people, I thought the cupcake dunk was pretty cool. I liked the creativity and thought it was a really good idea, but he probably would have been better served if he waited a little bit to do it, because his dunks really went downhill after that.

I love how everyone is complaining about Dwight's superman dunk. His creativity alone makes him deserve the crown.

People are complaining because he didn't technically dunk the ball. He threw it in. I understand where they're coming from. I would have liked to see Dwight dunk the ball instead of throwing it in. He was too far away from the basket. I'm sure if he did it over, he would be able to grab the rim, but he just jumped too far out, but it was still creative and cool.

Yeah but that doesnt matter everyone saw it and the judges still scored it. They announcing crew of Kenny, Magic, etc. didnt think that was a reason to"not count it' or give him a less score. It was amazing and the people who complain are just jealous.
