The main key to beating the Cavs is rebounding. They usually pound us on the boards. Especially Big Z. Good thing Varejao isn't playing. He was another pain in the a**. Let's just keep them off the offensive boards and limit them to one shot. Hopefully we get a similar result as in the preseason.

Not many teams did a better job defensively against the Cleveland Cavaliers last season than the Orlando Magic. Like most teams, however, it doesn't mean they were able to stop LeBron James.

The Magic look to continue their success on defense against the Cavaliers as the teams open their season series Wednesday night.

Orlando went 2-1 against defending Eastern Conference champion Cleveland last season, holding the Cavaliers to 79.7 points per game and 38.5 percent shooting from the field.

It was Cleveland's lowest scoring average against any team it played three or more games against.

Preview

Bogans will have the unenviable task of guarding LeBron tonight.

I want a W to dispel the notion that we can only beat the bad teams. The refs should lay off on Dwight.

Go Magic!!!

For real, they need to let em play. This game is very winnable. Hopefully we can lock down everyone else and try to slow lebron a little.

That used to be a huge knock on Miami during their championship season. Throughout the season, they had a horrible record against the top teams, but they would almost always beat the mediocre and bad teams in the league. I'm not saying that it's a good thing. I'd like to beat the top teams too, but this team is still growing and needs some time to get used to SVG's style.

We are becoming better at playing an uptempo style with each game we play, IMO. Obviously last night we had a lot of turnovers, but we tried to push the ball a lot. Let's look to do that tonight as well.

i agree, despite the rediculous amount of turnovers, we pushed the ball up and down the court--granted, it was against a very young and learning team, but a win is a win.

If we can keep out turnovers to about 10 or 11 or so, and we push the ball and score like we did last night, we will have no problem winning this game.

ps. cant let lebron have his way with us, we let our guard down against him, he will make us pay for it.

Stop Lebron = key to the game (obviously)!!

Did he mention rebounding??

Anyways, I think that LeBron will do his thing but I'm not worrying about anyone else really. I think Rashard Lewis and Dwight will deff. do good in this game.

Actually, I think it would be more effective to let LeBron score and don't let the rest of the Cavs to get into the action. I think this is what worked for us last season. As long as the other Cavs are well defended it will just be LeBron against Hedo/Lewis and Dwight.

Besides I don't really think we have a guy that can stop LeBron anyways. But the rest of the Cavs players is a whole different story - our defense can lock all of them down.

Bogans did a pretty good job in China. We tried to put Turk on him for a bit... that did not end prettily. lol.
