Jefferson and Howard have quite a history, and they went at each other hard all night.

"Me and Dwight Howard, we're great friends," Jefferson said. "But when we're on the court, we hate each other. He says to me in the game, 'Man stop doing all those ball fakes.'

"And I said, 'Well, stop jumping.' It's always fun to go against him. But when we're out there on the court we're battling."

Florida Today article

  Funny trash talk from the 2 bigs. I didn't know they were that close.

Funny stuff.

Zuppa, I hope you were able to look at the play-by-play and realize that you were wrong about SVG not calling the timeouts. When I was watching the game, I was pleased to see that SVG was calling a timeout while the lead was still in the double digits. Brian Hill used to wait way too long.

Yep, you're right. I went to sleep right after the game (4am) so i didn't reply earlier. Don't know why I missed that OT. Maybe I went to the bathroom (seriously, lol) or was just lost watching other games boxscores at the time, but I really missed that TO called when we were up by ten. The only thing I remember was watching us lead by 14 or 16 (can't recall exactly) and then watch us lead by 10, 8, 6, 4 and then 2... All I was thinking was "wow, where's the timeout?".
My bad, no problem at all admiting it.
I still think Craig's posts was unnecessary as it made me look like a Van Gundy hater, wich you guys know that couldn't be more far from the truth. And he will make some mistakes, call timeouts out of time, etc. It's part of the coach's job to fail (even he was the first to admit after the Pistons game that he coached poorly, which was fantastic IMO to take the blame out of the players shoulders even if they executed poorly).
I love the guy and I'm completely sold on his coaching abilities (the way we dropped our turnovers to <10 in such small amount of time amazes me!), and it Craig made it seem like only NBA coaches can talk about coaching. Well, following that line of thinking nobody here has the right to criticise Arroyo for being a selfish player (easy Nogaro, not saying he was ;) He was fantastic yesterday night. I hope he keeps playing like this.) because obviously nobody here played the PG position at NBA level.

But ok, it's all good. It was my fault on that timeout stuff. I completely missed it for some reason I can't really recall.

What matters most is that we won. And does anybody know if Turk's ankle is good for tonight? I couldn't believe he was still running after that twist...

Long time, no post...

I actually thought that was a pretty well-played game. I was impressed by Howard and Lewis, in particular, but Bogans had an all-around solid game. I don't care how many points he scores, he was a factor on defense and on the boards, and I'll take that from him anyday.

As for Arroyo, I thought he played a decent game. He took too many ill-advised shot, but he ran a fairly good offense. Maybe it's just me, but I hate seeing a PG take the ball all the way down the court, dribble to the top of the key, and then take a jumper with a guy in his face. Jameer did it a lot last year, and Arroyo has done it a lot so far this year.

As for the dominator (Garrity), he played pretty well. Knocked down some jumpers and didn't look absolutely worthless. Good work, big fella.

No problem zuppa. We all have those "black outs" while watching games. When I'm not really paying attention, I can't remember what happened the play before.
