The Wolves are certainly better than their record right now and I hope they are able to get some W's this year because they play hard.

Any of you guys noticed we only have 9 TOs?

Dwight with 0 TO's tonight. wow!

Remember when Bianchi said "Doesn't accelerating your pace also mean accelerating your turnovers?"

  Can't blame a guy who was/is hopelessly in love with Brian Hill.

We'll be ok and Arroyo is actually making shots as Dwight seems to be doing ok with Big Al.

Now all we need is Jameer to actualy hit shots and we'll be alright

Apparently, Zuppa has coached at the NBA level.

Hey, Coach Zuppa, should Stan Van Gundy keep Hedo in there?

;-)

Craig, who thinks Zuppa should be a TNT analyst

Yes, to have an opinion on basic stuff you need to have NBA level coaching in your curriculum.

How about we let SVG do his job that he gets paid for and has tremendous respect for? It's easy for us to sit here at home and see how things have unfolded and then criticize him. He's gotta make decisions on the fly based off his players, the atmosphere, and what's going on on the court while trying to preserve his timeouts in case he needs them at the end.

Craig

Jesus Christ, I was one of the happiest guys on earth the day we signed him. I can't give an opinion about the 14-2 run we let Minny do without calling a timeout without getting bashed?
I suppose that by your posts nobody can say anything about the coaching, even if it was pretty obvious because we have no knowledge to do so. Ok then. Stan will never make mistakes.

Zuppa, pay attention during the games. SVG called a time out when we were up 92-82 and then he called another timeout when it was 92-90. I don't know what game you were watching. Look at the play-by-play if you don't believe me. It's not even a matter of opinion. You are wrong.

I'm not saying criticisms won't be warranted. He's not perfect.

People would say the same thing about Phil Jackson when he let his team just keep on playing during the tough periods. That's what makes a team better. Having to figure out situations on your own, using your basketball IQ. Let this team do that. Let them get familiar with each other. Let SVG see how they react under different situations. He'll make that call when he gets there. He's going to make good calls and he's going to make bad calls. It's when he doesn't learn from his bad calls that it becomes a problem.

It's a win, but I would have liked to not have blown that lead. But we still were able to hang on and get a win on the road. I'll take it.

Lewis came up big like he is supposed to. The defense has to clamp down at the end of the game. We have to be able to close better. I think We should have doubled on Jefferson. Dwight just couldn't guard him. I think SVG should have made that adjustment, but he didn't.

The fact of the matter is this. It's not going to happen every single time. We're going to have big leads and lose them. It happens to every team. The Magic kept the lead on the Bucks in the season opener and didn't let it slip. That's going to happen too. The Magic are far from perfect. I'm more impressed that at gut check time, they stepped up. That's what I'm taking out of this.

And Dwight did a good job on Jefferson. Jefferson had help and Dwight still dominated them.

Craig

I agree that it's good that we were able to hang on. I know that we didn't let the Bucks come back in and that was good, but I just hate it when we lose leads.

I don't think Dwight did a good job on Jefferson. He was getting killed during the run that Minny made. I'm glad that Jefferson is out of the East. He is going to be a very good player.

Yep, he is. Dwight shall be better.

Jefferson's got skills. Dwight shut him down at key moments during the game. You're not going to keep someone who is rather good shut down the entire time. Especially when he got hot while Dwight was on the bench.

Tomorrow night is a big game against a team that owned us last year. If we can start out 3-0 on this road trip it will really help out down the road.

I don't think Dwight "shut down" Jefferson. I think he just missed some of his shots. But maybe Dwight altered his shots once in awhile. Either way, we were able to hang on and win.

Zuppa, I hope you were able to look at the play-by-play and realize that you were wrong about SVG not calling the timeouts. When I was watching the game, I was pleased to see that SVG was calling a timeout while the lead was still in the double digits. Brian Hill used to wait way too long.

Dwight was really playing great defense on Big Al. Big Al got it going in the 4th quarter with Adonal on him and was still hot by the time Dwight got in there. But in the last few minutes of the game, Dwight was stopping Al again. :D
