NOTE FROM THE FORUM OWNER:

We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. You can also visit the original MagicMadness Forum at http://orlandomagic.proboards.com.

Special thanks to our Staff Members: Black and Blue, MAGICMANEVAN, and NYCMagicFan!

Twenty of the Magic's first 32 games are out of town, spanning November and December. Throw in nine back-to-backs, and call in the oxygen.

Their first road trip of the season, beginning Saturday in D.C., is eight days long.

If they can survive that stretch, be around .500 or better, it could be a special season.

If not, well, the Magic will have to rally the last half of the season, when the schedule lightens with more home games and days off.

True, everybody plays 82 games, but with such a road-heavy schedule early, especially with a new coach, new system and new star, it will test the Magic immediately.

Drafting Marbury + Foyle = Championship. \o/
Much like the Raptors last season when they started horribly and everyone was discarding them... then their schedule started easing up at mid-January and all of a sudden they were division leaders and grabbing one of the top spots in the conference.

Also, lets not forget our fantastic start last season and what happened next...
IMO we won't have a clear view of our real value and for what position we're fighting almost until the all-star break (unless we're 40-0 by then :lol). So lets all just sit back, enjoy our games and just see what are we capable of.

Would rather get this other with now than a bit later. Normally our big road trips don't begin until December/January so this is odd compared to other seasons.

I think we'll be all right, though we should've played one preseason game on the road instead of all at home and in China.

Hope everyone is well conditioned! Dont want to lose close games during that stretch because of fatigue at the end of games!

Hopefully SVG gets the guys in the mindset that they are the unknown team playing giant-killers to a bunch of more popular, but less deserving teams. That will really help them when they enter other teams' buildings.
