Well, hes got to get it first. But im sure the reason he hasnt applied for it yet, is to give the team time to talk to FA big men. Thats my guess but i could be wrong. Anyways, we only have 2.7 mil to spend, but we can get a good veteran rotation guy. IDK how much Webber, Brown or any of the other guys would want though. |

I think those guys you mentioned MME wants a "chance to win a championship". It's not about the money for them on this part of their career. It would be interesting who else is out there for $2.7M. I think a trade is our only option to land a big. |

Yeah it doesnt seem likely that we will get a veteran big who will contribute regularly with 2.7 million exception. So maybe a trade will be in the works?? I wonder who Otis will get rid of if he makes a trade.. |

We could probably deal Turk for big-man help. |

Good point. Maybe thats what Otis is thinking, because Turk would have to play big minutes at the PF anyways. |

Thing is, I think Otis is pretty intent on having Turk and 'Shard on the floor at the same time. He really wants to spread the floor for Dwight, and I think he'd be very reluctant to deal Turk for that reason. However, it would be nice to have a Chuck Hayes-/David Lee-type who could come in off the bench, rebound like crazy, and score garbage buckets. |

With Rashard questionable, I would definitely keep Turk. |

Do not get rid off Turk, he not only spreads the floor for Dwight, but he makes great passes and can drive to the basket! Remember the win against the Spurs last season when he made the pass to Dwight for the winning dunk? I know he had some health issues, but hate to see him go, I know he could be streaky but when he's healthy and on the floor good things happen, just think about that. |

I actually think Garrity would be the guy to go in a deal. We've been showcasing him, he has an expiring deal...seems like low risk, high reward for other teams. I think the reason that Otis applied late, in addition to getting a grasp on future moves, is because the league likely needs to get a diagnosis from the doctor post-op. If the surgery went really well, for example, the doctor could say Battie could play in a few months which would kill the exception's chances. Looks like everything is on track for the exception now, though. |

More options for big men If they are awarded the medical exception, players such as Michael Doleac, Mark Madsen, Wayne Simien, Calvin Booth, Lorenzen Wright, Melvin Ely, Johan Petro, Jarron Collins, Aaron Williams and Brian Skinner could possibly come into play. Sure, none of them are exciting, but all are at least serviceable and would provide some insurance. The NBA’s decision on the medical exception could take weeks, according to Smith. And I get the feeling the Magic might not be willing to wait that long because their roster is extremely thin behind centers Dwight Howard and Adonal Foyle. Expect the Magic to act quickly if Houston cuts Jackie Butler or Milwaukee cuts Michael Ruffin. Houston has 19 players on its roster and must get down to 15 before the start of the season. Ruffin is a physical rebounder and a good locker room presence and could potentially help the Magic as a third big man. |

The guys on AM 580 mentioned PJ Brown and Chris Webber. I thought for sure Webber only wanted to go to like Dallas or San Antonio so idk how interested he would be. PJ Brown... eh, id take Foyles defense over his. |

PJ Brown, if he agrees will be an awesome addition. He has a much better offense than Foyle, and a bit better on the D as well. With him and Foyle on the rotation it our big man problem will be solved. I think we should go for him if he is interested. Maybe he will be interested once he sees that we have a very good potential to make some noise this season.
