We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3077037 Give me a break. Just when the NBA was getting used to Miami being awful, in comes resident retard Kevin McHale on wings of crap to help out our division rival. |

Damn... I was considering putting money on the Heat going UNDER 43.5 wins this season (bodog.com), but this move might just keep them afloat.

I dont think Blount and Davis are going to make that much of a difference for the Heat. Orlando will run them. |

Agree. Davis and Blount are solid players, but the Heat are very old and depleted. Shaq is not the player he once was. His career is just about finished. |

They will be a little bit better but not that much. Just ask yourself how much you actually think Ricky Davis will improve them? They still are a below average team. |

I think this is more addition by subtraction. They got rid of Walker, so that in itself is an improvement. Davis is better than Walker. Blount is a better backup center than Doleac. They will not be significantly better but they have improved with this trade. What I can't understand is why the Wolves did this. WTF is Kevin McHale doing. Aside from the conditional first round pick they got chubby chucker Walker, an oft-injured rook in Wayne Simien and gave up Blount for a much lesser backup in Doleac. Wolves fans must be really pissed. |

Well, to me it seems kind of like what the Dolphins did by trading Chambers away. He was one of their best players but by trading him you show that your starting from the ground up. And the Wolves seem to be getting away all of the "bad" or the negative guys. Thats what it seems like here because they want to start from the ground up and start clean. They are basically shouting, "Were rebuilding!", so i guess the move makes sence once they can get those contracts off the books in a year or so. Walker has a team option so they can decline the option and make him a free agen in 09 i think it was, so they wont have to worry about him. Maybe thats why they did it. |

Was just thinking they could have gotten a better deal. But maybe you're right and the Wolves get a very good player on that conditional draft they acquired. So the result of this trade to them remains to be seen. |

Yeah i think so. Its an immediate good move (and desperate one), by the Heat. But the Wolves were already screwed this season, so its not like they are jeopardizing their future or anything. |

The thing about that one good part of the trade for the Timberwolves? That draft pick is crazy protected, almost to the point of where it's a late pick or unclaimable. There is a chance that the Timberwolves won't be able to claim it until the year 2011. I'm not joking. McHale just said his first comments on the trade and used it to mention how Antoine Walker has underperformed for the Heat. It's like HE even knows that he got garbage in return. He could definitely have done better. |

I guess it just shows how he was in desperation mode to get rid of Davis because he didnt want to be there. The same probably could be said for Blount. |

Certainly addition by subtraction for Miami. Maybe Ricky will go back to his ballhoging ways and will make D-Wade angry and cause locker room friction. I still think they are 3rd in the division behind Washington, but hopefully this move won't help them out. |

Only one thing I am sure of. I still hate Miami! I hope Davis rolls his eyes when Wade or the Big Fella addresses the team and they self-destruct right there.
