I think the main reason we are cutting one of them is to leave a roster spot open.

I go with BO for the following reasons:
1. We need a veteran big man that is well respected in the league especially with Refs.
2. The player in the final spot probably will only play in emergency minutes or blowouts.
3. We can count on him to give the Big Men some breathers or hold down the fort if the Big Men is in foul trouble or injured.
Auggie first have to developed then prove himself to the refs.
For example, if Bo is guarding Bosh, Garnett or the Oneals, the refs probably will not blow their whistles to quickly. If Auggie is guarding them, he probably will foul out in 2 or 3 minutes.
First of all its not the final spot. Otis wants to keep 14 players not 15 so there is more flexibility with trades and signings. Augustine can do the exact same thing here as Bo, and in my mind he does it better than Bo. Bo or Auggie wont guard Bosh, Garnett or Oneal. They wont even play most games. They would be for garbage minutes, emergencies, or spot minutes.
I actually could see SVG going 14 or 15 deep with the type of uptempo offense that we run. There's going to be alot of guys needing to rest. I'm on the fence, I like Bo's hustle and how he makes the crowd electric. But at his age im not sure how much hustle he has left. I think Auggie is more versitile on the offensive end obviously. I dont know, I may be leaning towards Auggie. Plus I dont consider Bo a "big Man" in the true sense. He's more of a combo forward.
12 deep sorry

Wow, though decision to make indeed. I love Bo; I love the veteran presence and leadership he can provide for the team. I also like giving the young cat a shot with Augustine. I don't know, I think I'd have to roll with the youth on this one. I love Bo dearly though, one of my all time fav's, no doubt.

Auggie AND Bo goners?

The Magic have already started the application process of getting an injury exception for Battie.
If they are awarded the medical exception, players such as Michael Doleac, Mark Madsen, Wayne Simien, Calvin Booth, Lorenzen Wright, Melvin Ely, Johan Petro, Jarron Collins, Aaron Williams and Brian Skinner could possibly come into play. Sure, none of them are exciting, but all are at least serviceable and would provide some insurance.
Expect the Magic to act quickly if Houston cuts Jackie Butler or Milwaukee cuts Michael Ruffin. Houston has 19 players on its roster and must get down to 15 before the start of the season. Ruffin is a physical rebounder and a good locker room presence and could potentially help the Magic as a third big man.
As for Augustine and Outlaw, could there be a scenario where the Magic wiave both players? Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy pointed out last week in China that if Augustine had more confidence in himself he’d be a much better player.
So if the Magic are able to snag another center/power forward type off the waiver wire in the coming days don’t be surprised if Outlaw and Augustine are left off the opening-night roster.

Interesting. I might be in the minority, but I would not at all mind losing Auggie in favor of a more conditioned player.

I'm with you. If there is someone better out there, let's get him.

Jackie Butler anyone? Who knows, maybe Otis might look at picking him up to help with the big man rotation.

Houston Chronicle - With their preseason schedule complete, the Rockets returned to practice on Saturday without center Jackie Butler and guard John Lucas III who are expected to be placed on waivers on Monday.

I'm in the minority when it comes to wanting to keep both Auggie and Bo, especially since I'm not impressed by anyone available on that list.
No one has Bo's energy, and Augustine works his a** off.

I think we could make due with the guys we got. But probably getting another banger in the post would be the smarter route to go. The East is alot tougher now. The bigs we got now are not ones that can come in off the bench and guard the big men of the east.
