If Kobe is traded -- I still believe he will sign an extension with the Lakers -- the front runners appear to be Chicago and Dallas. Thomas would certainly make a run at Kobe and you can bet that the Rockets, Suns, Raptors, Clippers, Magic and Bobcats will all be in the running, too.

When your team name gets mentioned, it can mean that an insider heard someone from the team talking. Either way, idk what pieces we could trade for him. Rashard? Turk? IMO, we dont have enough pieces to make them want to trade him here, nor do i want to give up 1/2 the team for him. Im happy with the team we have.

I wouldn't go for Kobe. It'll disrupt what we have and we won't be able to afford to build around him.

I'd like to see the Magic go after Kobe. However, I doubt he wants to play for a small market team. I wonder why they "bet" the Magic would be in the running for him, though? I've never heard anything from Otis Smith or any rumors in the past of the Magic being interested in Kobe.

Howard and Kobe? Too big of an opportunity to pass up, IMO.

This is BS. This guy has no proof at all that the Magic would be interested. Don't believe everything you see in the paper. We would not even think about trading for Kobe until we atleast see how this team performs.

Yeah, it's a New York paper. I highly doubt the Magic are really in contention for Kobe. If you think about it, Lewis would most likely have to be part of the trade. Do the Lakers really want to trade Kobe for a player who isn't as good yet makes more money than him?

The Lakers would only accept Howard. There's no way.

I'm not too cool with giving away your future for just one championship instead of years of exciting basketball like the Heat did.

There's no guarantee that getting Kobe would even win us a title. Minus Dwight, plus Kobe, aren't we basically equal in talent to the current Lakers?

I think right now we have more talent then they do. We just have to prove we can win games on the road and in the playoffs.

Kobe's wishlist is Dallas, Chicago, or Phoenix. Considering he has a no-trade clause, he'd veto any trade sending him anywhere else. We don't have to worry about Kobe. It's not happening.

Like some of you are saying, it'd probably mean us having to trade Dwight for Kobe. The Magic would never do it, and they'd be stupid to do it anyways.

My thinking is that the article suggests the Magic would package a deal around Lewis, because that's the only thing I could see us even remotely trying to do. But trading Howard for Kobe wouldn't make much sense, though I bet the Lakers would like it.

Yeah, its not worth it for us. Even though most people agree Kobe is the best in the game, hes not worth the team's future for him. One player will not get you a title.

No way on this. The reason we got Rashard was to be the compliment to Dwight that Kobe was to Shaq. Plus, as most of you mentioned we are not willing to part with enough to make this happen.

-And thank goodness. I can't stand Kobe. He is talented, but his personality is team cancer.
