We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. I do believe that Orlando will make the 2008 NBA Playoffs with signings of Rashard Lewis,Dwight Howard,Adoyal Foyale & Others that have escaped me) (They May may 2nd or 1st Round with this years team, which we would not have seen since 1995!!!) But he are my top 8 for the NBA Playoffs in the East 1.Boston 2.Chicago 3.Washington 4.Detroit 5.Cleveland 6.Orlando 7.New Jersey 8.Toronto |

Man everyone is too quick to jump on the team with the stars because its the easy thing to say. But ive seen all to well teams with great players not live up to expectations. Look at the Lakers a few seasons back with Shaq, Kobe, Malone, Payton, etc. they were "supposed" to win it all. Everyone just rides Boston, but i for sure dont think they will be #1. Injuries are bound to happen and will because they have stars but not young stars. All the sports writers put Boston at the top of the standings without even seeing how they mesh. Sometimes it takes more than a season like the Nuggets now. And time is not on Boston's side. Its not a thing where you throw some stars together and boom you got a championship. Just look at the USA mens team.

I completely agree with you MME. Boston will be much improved, and most certainly will be in the playoffs, but having them rated as the number 1 team (something almost everyone is doing) is a pretty bold statement over teams that have played together for years and have great schemes in place like Detroit, Cleveland, and Chicago. Next year might be more realistic once the team figures out how to play the players together. |
