NOTE FROM THE FORUM OWNER:

We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. You can also visit the original MagicMadness Forum at http://orlandomagic.proboards.com.

Special thanks to our Staff Members: Black and Blue, MAGICMANEVAN, and NYCMagicFan!

yeah that last game at the amway... all the good memories, i really just thought about it and it will be a pretty sad day to see the amway gone. I remember the days when teams feared to play in the O-rena. Young shaq runnin round windermere. That era was really somethin.

Rocks blocking shots on guys with dreadlocks
hopefully when the time comes for amway arenas last game it'll be deep in the playoffs like the ECF or possibly even the Finals, that would be a great way to send it out

Yes it's worth it because there won't be anymore talk of THE ORLANDO MAGIC going to Another City like in years before 2004 when DH12 was drafted with the Magic's #1 pick.

"If it passes, all three projects would then individually go to an up-or-down vote on a future county ballot. If all that proves successful, Rosen could possibly undo the most expensive building project in Central Florida history."

Firstly, the current deal is already passed. I don't see how this petition could act towards the past.

But, this was already speculated on by the O-Sen. Their editorials were that this step was already dealt with and the petition thus has no legal weight. (at least to the past issues; the future? maybe).

But, I guess the collective point is that the Magic get their arena.

I told you guys not to exhale yet. Rosen is all for himself -- and he will drag this out as long as he possibly can. Maybe we should start a counterproposal to keep from having the rest of the debt on the convention center paid for.

If he can't get the venues killed, he will make sure that the city and county have to bleed financially to fight him off.

I just heard on the news they signed the final paperwork..its done deal as of today..if he tries to appeal..HE WILL most likely lose.

yea most likely, but it's not 100%. He has a small chance of succeeding, but like the article says it could delay the projects and raise the costs, so even if his plan fails (which it most likely will) it will still be costly.

yeah, I wrote about this today in the blog. Rosen will most likely lose, but he just wants to draw it out and cost the people who won over him money.

Sour grapes.

Is there anything we can do to make sure this _____ doesn't get his way?

Alex Martins, the Magic's chief operating officer, also was there to thank the golfers/Magic fans, also giving them an assurance that plans for the new downtown arena are moving forward, despite some dissent in town trying to mount a drive to slow it.

"The design [for the new arena] has begun, and we are under way," Martins told the golfers. "We intend to be breaking ground by August of 2008. Things are moving forward nicely."
