NOTE FROM THE FORUM OWNER:

We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. that the Orlando Magic had a sky-high offer to buy the team late last year? So said Chief Operating Officer Alex Martins in a sit-down we had last week. Martins said an out-of-the-area buyer, whom he wouldn't identify, offered the DeVos family a whopping $410 million for the team. The price seems high, more than $100 million more than Forbes last said the team was worth. (Then again, when you're talking Magic deals, somebody's got to be overpaying for something, don't they?) Martins said he and the team had kept the offer under wraps for nine months, but decided to share the story as proof that the DeVos family wants to keep the team -- and keep it in Orlando -- for the long haul. (More on this story on the Taking Names blog at OrlandoSentinel.com/takingnames)

out-of-the-area buyer? Probably some guy who wanted to buy the team and move it. Thank you Devos Family.

5/7 votes is rather high though. Definitley will need a good amount of support
