It looks like there are other suitors for PJ Brown service:

The Suns would be a much more attractive destination.

The big man situation is out of our control at the moment. Nobody is jumping at a veteran minimum contract, and rightfully so. We should have our pick of the leftovers once free agency dies down and the season nears.

I wouldn't mind PJ Brown at all, but I'd bet he'll end up elsewhere.

We don't exactly need anyone who is going to get any more than a veteran minimum. Just play some defense and rebound.

We have reached out to Webber and PJ Brown. Wouldn't be bad to land at least one of them.

I agree because Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley won't be around this time.

I would personally prefer Brown. Something about Webber, that I never really liked about him.

I think Webber would be a great replacement for Darko; better offensive game, slightly less better defensively. I just don't think he's a realistic target; he'll demand too much.

I don't think Webber is demanding a lot of money from any team. He's made it clear that he just wants to play for a winner and the Magic are not in the same level as Detroit or Dallas yet.

That's why I don't see us getting Webber. It's not because he's asking for too much money. Dallas can offer him the mid-level exception and they probably won't do that. They will probably give him a contract similar to Grant Hill's contract with Phoenix.

At this point, all Webber wants is a title so he can retire. He's made enough money. I'm sure he'd be willing to take the veterans' minimum with either Detroit or Dallas. Maybe we could persuade him to come here, but I doubt it.

It'd be worth it to see a Magic player wear no. 84, though.

Webber has a knack for passing out of the post, and for that, I think he'd be worth a look. His offensive game is becoming more and more limited with each passing year. Defensively, he's not great, and he wouldn't really fit with a quicker-paced offense. Oh, and he's never been much of a time-out-caller.

I'm on the fence, but he'd certainly be better than nothing.

I think we'd be extremely lucky to land either player as they can do better money-wise and contender-wise elsewhere.

I ultimately don't see us landing either of them, and could see us going with a castoff more around the Melvin Ely level. This would be okay with me since anyone we get would probably get a 1 year contract in lieu of Vasquez coming over.

Not to mention that either one of those guys (Brown & Webber) would be great teachers to young Dwight howard in addition to Ewing on the coaching staff. However I too doubt that either one is coming here since they are both chasing a ring at this point in their respective careers.
