We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. The Bulls could make a run for him if they let Nocioni go. |

The first line of that article kills me. He thinks he must have won the free agent sweepstakes? That's what I would call hack writing. Has Otis come out saying that's how he feels? Is he being boastful? No, he's not. Otis is trying to craft a team to win now and in the future. With Darko, he doesn't deserve more than five million. 6.8 million was generous. Darko needs to realize that he needs to prove himself and he has yet to do that. I think we will see Darko in a Magic uniform because no one is going to give him close to the money he wants. I would tell Darko that if he wants a bigger pay day to prove himself and sign him to a 3 year deal. Otis is doing a great job. Darko's agent is a fool and doesn't know how to handle himself. I never heard him blast Detroit the way he is blasting Orlando, and Orlando actually let him play. One writer said that it was odd to hear Darko's agent exploding the way he is. I agree with that. This is just weird coming from him. Sounds like to me he wasn't getting as many great offers as it appeared and was hoping the Magic would give him and Darko the payday they needed. With Orlando pulling out, Darko isn't going to get those high offers anymore. Craig |

Ok there is no reason to downgrade Otis or the moves hes made. Hes a very good GM in the eyes of the fans and thats really hard to do. Hes made better and smarter moves than most GMs. The writer of that article is way too high on Darko. While he is a great talent, hes not worthy of a very expensive contract at the expense of a big scorer that we need like Lewis. If we would have spent 10 mil on Darko and said forget you to Lewis, the fans and all the writers like this guy would be on Otis' a** from now till ever. |

Darko will get the mle if he doesnt sign with the magic because the bucks will resign Mo Williams eating up most of their cap, Wallace will resign with Char eating up all their cap. And rumor has it that memphis is going to offer 7 million to the RFA Varejao from cleveland if that fails they will offer the same deal to Nociani. Darko said to be their third opintion. To me if a sign and trade goes down between seattle and magic, darko's agent should be happy with 8 millon from the magic because their is nobody going to give him 10. |

bad move. I have been watching Darko playing for Serbian national team. when he is main focus on offense he looks like young KG. One thing that Orlando GM does not get is that he has to trust Darko. Serbs are realy proud nation, once they feel betrayed they will never trust you again. I would not be surprised at all if Darko signs with Miami. Money is not the issue here, Darko has it more than enough. |

Let him go to Miami, so Rashard Lewis can posterize his head off. |

what is big deal with Lewis? if history teaches us anything, Orlando has bad luck with free agents. Simple phone call would have changed everything let's wait 2 years and see how this will work out. I am affraid that it will not work well for Orlando. btw, this summer is europen championship. watch out for Darko. In all the games that are important playoff and for national team he was very consistent. Not so sure about Howard or Lewis. |

If he has more than enough, why ask for 10M per? Otis is just being smart like the majority of the NBA GM's when it comes to "trusting Darko". If he is that good we should be seeing a pile-up of teams offering him the moon and everything. The mere fact that that is not happening is a sign that although many thinks he will be a good player....he is not "that" good to warrant a 10M per. He will probably end up with some team's MLE though. If he signs with Miami, that will be even better. Spice up the rivalry. But I am guessing it will have the same result as last season...4-0 Orlando. ![]() |

What's the big deal with Darko? The guy is far from being worth 10M per season. |

Wow. Darko is like KG in the Serb league. Excuse me while my shivers of excitement pass. Come on, he's done nothing over here to showcase that kind of ability. This is the NBA, the big show, a league where international stars WANT to be. It's like comparing Arena Football to the NFL. Sure, it's around, but everyone would rather go to the real league. Let's face the facts: If every team in the NBA had to choose between signing Rashard Lewis or Darko Milicic as a priority, every team would go with Lewis. In a heartbeat. I wonder if Rakovic is like the Serbian Jermaine O' Neal.
