I see why you like it MAGICMANEVAN & Why you don't Cyclonus. But I'd have to go with MAGICMANEVAN on this because I don't think SVG is the kind of NBA Coach you even try to push around or irritate like Artest might have done in years past,It would be good to have Ron Artest because he does stop people defensively & Orlando needs ALL The "D" they can get to get anywhere near an NBA Title. That's what Otis Smith is trying to do make the team for 07-08 work for SVG but All Players be good on all positions,etc... ec23456 |

The Magic were a top-ten defensive team last year. They don't need Artest at all. Don't we already have three small forwards? We should be making a play for a four or for a two, not for another three. |

They guy has way too much baggage with him. There is no doubt that he is a talented player, but I can see the headlines now "Ron Artest arrested for an altercation at Rachel's Gentleman's Club" or maybe "Artest asks Van Gundy for some time off to record another album". He's one of those guys that thinks the word revolves around him. |

How has he been in Sacramento though? Attitude-wise, of course. |

Yeah, his album did real good. I would love him on this team but he'll probably get into a fight with Keyon Dooling. Besides we already have a residential thug on this team and his name is Bo Outlaw.

I know that this will stir the pot of controversy, but I am squarely with MagicmanEvan on this one. Artest is a gamble, but he could seriously help with Rashard Lewis' shortcomings on defense and provide another outside scoring threat. Even with his mindset, I say you go with exchanging a starter over a backup (which we all have to agree Hedo is) any day of the week. This ONLY will fly though if Dwight prefers Artest to Hedo (which is a possibility) and SVG agrees he is ready to tackle the challenge. |

We were not a top defensive team last year. Playing extremely slow so the other team has less possessions doesn't make you a top defensive team. It just means that you play very slow. Artest can also play the 2. I was just looking at his contract. I would not be pissed if this deal went through. He has 2 years left on his contract and the last year is a player option. If he becomes a pain in the a**, it won't hurt us financially to have him away from the team. He won't be on the books for long. This would be a high risk, high reward trade. If he behaves and plays the way he's capable of, we can be VERY dangerous in the east. The question is, will he behave? Personally, I would try to get Shareef instead of Artest. |

It's obvious that SVG has no problem coaching Artest. He was willing to coach the Kings before we stepped in. Also, isn't Otis making these deals with SVG? So if Artest comes to Orlando, it's only because SVG wanted him to be here. |

Exactly Magiclive. Just need Dwight to sign off and I think you make this trade. It's weird that these reports are coming out with conflicting stories on who is contacting who. I hope for our sake that the Kings are contacting us. |

How does the money match up? If it was a trade straight up, Hedo for Ron. |
