This guy is good center to replace Darko at a cheaper price. He younger than Battie and have better offense game.

Because he's overrated and overpaid. The fact that he was once an All-Star is a testament to the East's suckiness.

Career Stats
He is younger than Battie and more experienced than Darko.

Career averages of 9 points and 7 rebounds. Last season, he averaged 6 points and 6 rebounds. Seems like a more grossly overpaid Tony Battie. I'm unimpressed.

OK, unless we get Rashard in sign and trade deal not involving Darko, the frontcourt is a position the Magic is going to address the frontcourt position. Jamaal have never been the focal point of any team offense. His stats are good for averaging 21 minutes a game last season.

I'm somewhere in the middle on this idea. On one hand Jamaal is someone who would be servicable and spell Battie. On the other hand I know that the Blazers just wanted to get rid of him at times last season because of his ineffectiveness.

He would be nothing more than a stopgap solution, so I'd be surprised if we seriously went after him.

If we lose Darko, he could be good addition to add to the frontcourt. I think he could still start in this league. Lately he just being get caught in the rebuilding process. New Orleans was rebuilding, which is why he got traded to the Bucks. The Bucks got Charlie V and Andrew Bogut, which was why he got traded to Portland. Portland was in the rebuilding stage and Randolph was the starting center. For the minutes he played over the years, he is putting up quality numbers. He should be under consideration, we need another veteran big man.

Signing him wouldn't be the best thing we could do, but it certainly wouldn't be the worst either...

EDIT: 3,000th post. Whooo! I should have saved it for something better :D

When Darko walks, he's got to be on the list of guys we'd chase. Experienced and halfway decent. We just need someone to defend and pull down boards without getting absolutely dealt on.

Keep in mind, we also put in a qualifying offer to Mario Kasun... and we all know how dominant he can be.

I am also interested to see how Marcin Gortat has progressed. He did well last summer, so with another year cooking overseas he should be ready to join the team next season. Any of you guys have info on him?

Drafting Marbury + Foyle = Championship. \o/
lol

Mario has his advantages... he can bring a lot of porn stars to the stands and that will distract the opponents while keeping the fans pleased.

Not much. He seemed to have a good year statistically, but stats in european basketball don't really tell the truth about a player (or at least, the whole truth). I think we'll know more about him on the summer league than by reading reports of his games.

I remember last year he looked good in the summer league. Very aggressive player and a lot of us thought he would make the team.
