We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. Not to get too specific with the stats, but I saw this on ESPN the other day:

There are only 5 players to average 20 pts, 5 rbs, and 1 steal a game for the past 3 years - Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, Vince Carter, LeBron James, and Rashard Lewis.

Pretty good company, eh?

Haha that 1 steal helps toss out the bigs - Brand and Nowitzki - further making him look good on paper.

Fantasy basketball is going to be a race to get him. I had him in one of my two leagues last year (I forget which) but I remember him carrying my team.

I always ended up getting him too in some of my leagues.

I bet the people who bought J.J. Redick jerseys are going to be pissed if/when Rashard takes that number. :S

I was thinking 25 or 52. The latter is more likely, because larger numbers tend to belong to larger players. Pat Garrity wears no. 8 because no. 53, which he wore in college, seemed too big for player who wasn't a center.

Will someone send Jason Williams the memo?

In Jason Williams' mind he was the biggest player that ever lived.

... The mid-level exception for over-the-cap teams is $5,356,000, and the luxury tax threshold will be $67,865,000.

The salary cap numbers mean that free agent Rashard Lewis of Seattle will get a $90.764 million deal from the Orlando Magic if he signs with them for five years.

If, however, the Seattle SuperSonics and Magic can agree to a sign-and-trade deal, Lewis would get a six-year pact worth $118.54 million.

Orlando has already committed to giving Lewis a maximum contract.

That's a lot of money coming Rashard (and Dwight's) way.

Time for them to earn it.

Anyone know if/when the Magic's press conference is? I want to be watching when Rashard Lewis is introduced.
