ESPN.com broke my heart this morning with the news that the Rockets will be in discussions with the Sonics to obtain Rashard Lewis:

Quote:

HOUSTON -- The Houston Rockets want Rashard Lewis to come back home.

Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said Saturday night that the club is "going after Rashard," the SuperSonics forward who attended high school in suburban Houston and is considered one of the NBA's most attractive free agents this summer.

"We really want him," Morey told Houston television station KRIV-TV. "We think he would be a significant player for us. Rashard would have to be motivated to come."

I don't think the Rockets really have the trade assets to obtain Lewis, but he'd sure as heck want to play there. He'd get to play next to All-Stars Yao Ming and T-Mac in a city with which he is already familiar. Yikes. <_<

Is Gerald Wallace on the line? :/

That is a really attractive situation for Lewis. Sucks for us.

I really hope that we are being as agressive. ESPN reported this morning that he may want to play in NYC.

Man, I'm hoping for the best.

I disagree, Rashard, once again, would be playing in the Shadow of Tmac and Yao, I think Lewis wants to lead a team, not e a side kick.

I remember hearing a couple weeks ago on ESPNEWS that Houston would be a "dream job" for him because its his hometown. So not a good sign.

He would also want to win. At least McGrady will leave the 1st round if this trade goes down.

His agent seems to think we are the best option and said so recently. (I'm too lazy to find the link, but it's in the blog)

I also heard he had 19 teams contact him. That is just insanity.
