How much did we give it up for?

The Rockets will not be able to call it a night after their first-round pick in tonight's NBA Draft, after all.

For the second consecutive season, the Rockets on Thursday purchased a second-round pick from the Orlando Magic. This season, the Rockets picked up the draft pick the Magic got from the Cleveland Cavaliers, giving the Rockets the 26th pick in the first round and the 24th pick in the second round, No. 54 overall.

The Rockets dealt their own second-round pick, No. 56 overall, to the Milwaukee Bucks in 2005 along with Reece Gaines to acquire Mike James, whom they had since dealt and re-acquired.

Now we only have the 44th pick. :/ We could have used that to get a player but Otis will be smart and use the money towards a FA im sure.

Dunno, article didn't say, maybe Otis has talked to Fran and we needed that amount to break his contract in Europe? ....yeah right :D

I'm okay with this move. Obviously the team has a plan with this money and will spend it for something better than drafting a European prospect. We already have two overseas in Franny and Marcin, so why add more?

Yeah, so maybe we made a good trade.

I don't think that would make much of a dent to us.

I had no problem with this move. The last thing we needed was more young, inexperienced players on the roster. We can use that money later on in other more necessary ways.

Yeah, I didn't have anyone specific in mind. I was just thinking that, with the Magic's luck, the guy the Rockets drafted with their pick would turn out to be a superstar or something.
They got Brad Newley of Australia, and I don't think anyone knows anything about him. He's also their fifth or sixth shooting guard at this point. I doubt we'll see him until next season, perhaps even beyond that.

Oh OK. I thought someone was already being coined that nickname. Thanks for clearing that up for me, guys.
