Interesting pick for the Magic. Not sure if we ever see him play though. I thought Gasol would be a good pick as he could probably stay in Spain for a year or two to get better.

Mr. Anderson
I thought it would be Taureen Green, but almost every team is staying away from him.

Strengths: Terry has close to ideal physical attributes and athleticism for a small forward. He is a very good spot-up shooter from outside, and also improved on some of his questionable body control mechanics in preparing for the draft. Terry can put the ball on the floor for one or two dribbles and finish at the rim. He has all the tools to be a very good perimeter defender.

Weaknesses: Terry lacks assertiveness on the offensive end and doesn’t always play to his potential. He also isn’t the greatest ballhandler, and isn’t someone who will consistently create his own shot. Terry hasn’t shown consistency from NBA 3-point range. Defensively, he needs to play with more effort on the perimeter, consistently trying to lock down his man.

Outlook: Terry projects as an early second rounder in the draft, and could contribute fairly early if he goes to a weaker team. If he works on his ball-handling and becomes more assertive in trying to get the ball, he could be a very good bench scorer relatively soon.

Birthday:4/7/1984
NBA Postion:Small Forward
Class:Senior
Ht:6-7
Wt:232
College Team:North Carolina
Hometown:Winston-Salem, NC
High School:Reynolds

NBA Comparison: Stephen Jackson
Strengths: Terry has a good amount of quickness to create separation from his defender … Athletically he is among the elite level athletes at his position in the college game … Physically he has all the tools one looks for in a defender … Long arms, quickness, and size … Underrated ball handler who can take opposing players off the dribble … Great help defender who gets a number of shot blocks by rotating over … Has three point range and can convert off the dribble or with his feet set … Unselfish player who looks to teammates often for offensive opportunities … Is capable of slashing to the basket and finishing in traffic with flair … When Terry gets going, he has the ability to put up big points … Great rebounder who uses his athleticism and long arms to make an impact … Though already a senior, he appears to have poential ... Has a great body that is NBA ready with good strength … Solid slasher who uses his leaping ability and body control to produce amazing finishes …

Weaknesses: Has struggled some this season getting his confidence going … Looks at times as if his focus is elsewhere instead of in the game … Has always been a bit of an inconsistent player who goes through periods of streaky play … Has a tendency to gamble too much on steals which can leave him out of position giving his man the open look … Prone to making mental mistakes during games … Isn’t a big fan of physical contact and lacks a certain amount of mental toughness … Defensively he is still learning how to play the passing lanes and anticipate passes … Doesn’t put enough pressure on opposing defenses … Settles at times for the long range shot instead of taking the ball to the basket and drawing fouls … Needs to find a comfort level and better utilize the mid-range jumper … Has a bad habit of standing around on offense instead of moving around to get open …

Hes a big, athletic forward who can slash, shoot, and finish. Hes a senior, which means hes got experience and also has potential to be a good team player.

So he can slash and shoot, eh? No wonder they compared him to Stephen Jackson.

We traded him already to Dallas for cash. Otis is stashing up on cash. That should help in the FA.

They also got the draft rights to Milovan Rakovic from Dallas.

Rakovic (6’10”, 2/19/85) has played his entire professional career in Serbia. Last season (2006-07), he played with KK Mega Ishrana, where he averaged 12.9 ppg. and 4.6 rpg. in 21.4 minpg. during A1 League play.

He also averaged 8.6 ppg. and 3.8 rpg. in 16.4 minpg. during SuperLeague action. Rakovic started with Polet Keramike in the Serbian 1B League before moving on to KK Atlas in the A1 League for the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons.

I bet Darko's agent will say that this is "a pro-Darko move" by the Magic.

And to be honest, I also think so. Having another Serbian in the roster wil be great for Darko. Even if Milovan doesn't see playing time soon.
And to be honest, I didn't knew anything about Reyshawn, and he was a SF... With this trade we took a small gamble in a player whom might become a good bench player. We need depth on the frontline, so I guess this was a good trade. Now we'll have Gortat + Augustine + Milovan to fight for that 4th big spot.

You mean we only have the right to Rakovic. Now we only have an unproven Euro who nobody knows about. We probably wont see him for a few seasons. We could have used Terry incase Grant leaves. :/

This might be the first time in team history that the Magic have a Mr. Insignificant on their roster. I think someone told me that Don Reid was the last pick of his draft, so if that's true, I'm wrong.

I cant believe people on other boards are freaking out about the draft, seriously we had 2 second round picks, what did people really expect otis to do with that, im glad we traded away those picks instead of picking a bunch of scrubs who aren't going to even be on our team after this season or even make the team in general

People just like to see change for the sake of seeing change. I dont want anymore young players to develop I want this team to start developing what they have now. Did people honestly think a second rounder would improve this team?
