Heres a rumor - Jameer for the 11th pick

I was told today the Magic are in serious talks with the Hawks about their #11 pick. I hesitate to speculate the players involved, but my source told me he believes the Hawks have asked for Jameer Nelson. As I understood it, that may be what they asked for, but that may have been under the premise of the Hawks taking back more salary in exchange for the trade exception the Hawks received last year from the trade with the Pacers.

According to another source of mine, he has heard that Otis is willing to trade any player on the Magic roster other than Dwight and Trevor. Darko can not be traded at this time, so I am assuming Darko has never been a part of any trade conversations since Otis is on record saying Darko is a priority for the Magic. According to my original source, he believed the Magic would make a deal with the Hawks if the player Otis covets falls to #11.

 We'll see if this one comes to fluition and the backpeddling to follow.

Otis thinks Jameer was misused by Hill last season and can be our PG in the new offense. I'd be surprised if he is the one sent packing, especially with so much talk lately of him being part of our young core.

I'm part of the "give Jameer another shot" camp. I think we'll see an improvement from him now that Hill is gone and his game isn't restricted.

However, trading for the #11 pick is intriguing. I wouldn't be against it.

If it's for the 11th pick, then do it. We can get a lot of interesting people. We could draft Al Thornton, wouldn't have to worry about Rashard or GWallace, and go after Chauncey.

Despite how much I bash Jameer, I am in that camp as well. He's a young player who was trapped in a bad offense with mediocre teammates. He deserves another shot, but he should have to earn it.

I believe both our PG's are going to play alot better under this new system. If Otis was smart he wouldnt trade any of our PG's who already know the guys on this team and how they play. I know alot of you don't think chemistry has anything to do with being a successful basketball team. (Especially the young bucks who think it's all about how high someone can jump) But the more players we can keep on this roster from last year the better.

Turk is probablly the only player I would be willing to trade to clear cap space. We can't keep 'starting over' by getting new players all the time. We need to keep the core together. I hope it's an uneventful draft night and Otis just focuses on signing a good player.

Allen to Boston, Randolph to the Knicks... man, the East just won to big names right there. Bad news for us.
And by the lack of movement from our office (in the cam we can see on nba.com) I don't think we'll see the Magic make any move tonight besides drafting at #44. :\

Btw, Allen to Boston for the number 5 pick, Wally and Delonte it's an absolute steal for the Celtics.
I mean, it's like sending Dooling+Hedo+Darko to get Allen...

GS just got my favourite pick if the Magic had kept it's #15 (the one we sent to Detroit). Belinelli is gonna be a stud in the league, I guarantee you.

I'm not so sure Boston should have made that trade. Getting Allen is nice, but honestly how many years does he and Pierce have left?

It's just that Allen would have been better suited on a team that was already near competing for a title. Boston is still a couple of years away before even thinking about that, given the talent around Pierce.

I love that the Knicks dumped Steve Francis on Portland and that the Blazers are just going to buy out his contract.

Well, let's not forget that Al Jefferson is already a stud.
Al + Pierce + Allen... I'd say that Allen still has 3 years left in him. I think it was great for Boston.
