Future Hall of Fame center Patrick Ewing, who finished a 17-year NBA playing career in Orlando, could be returning to the Magic next season as an assistant coach under Stan Van Gundy.

According to those close to Ewing, he is strongly considering an offer from Van Gundy to rejoin the Magic and help coach 21-year-old center Dwight Howard.

Complete Story

Well, if the Magic want somebody to teach Dwight Howard some post moves, they could do worse than hire Patrick Ewing.

Ewing coaching Dwight? Awesome, good choice. He can teach him how to perfect his low post game and defense. I hope he accepts.

Too bad I spent the last hour writing tomorrow's blog post. Otherwise, I'd have this covered. Maybe Black & Blue will take a swing at it.

I like that Ewing has experience doing this, though. He worked with Yao for a few years in Houston and made him into one of the most efficient centers in the NBA. Hell, I'd argue that Yao is the best center in the league.

Maybe he can teach Dwight that sweet turnaround fade-away shot. It's killer.

Nice. Ewing would definitely be a great choice to mentor Dwight. Hopefully this gets done.

Yep, covered it this mornin. Hopefully we get him because his ability to sweat gallons will help Dwight become unable to guard.

Well Ewing & Kemp in Pinstripes might be going a little far,but I'd say sign Ewing if he wants Orlando Assistant Job next to SVG,I toally agree he'd be Great for Howard & Milicic (if he's here in 08)
