Mr. Anderson
Unless the Magic is involved in this trade I think this thread is in the wrong column.

Ric Bucher/ESPN -
Ric Bucher of ESPN reports that Kobe Bryant wants to be traded to either the Bulls, Suns or Knicks.

The Lakers reportedly do not want Bryant to remain within the Western Conference and that the Knicks are unlikely to have enough talent to get a deal done, which makes Chicago the prohibitive favorites.

Bucher says some GM's expect a trade to be completed before the draft.

Another report has the Lakers hoping to take back Ben Wallace, Ben Gordon, Luol Deng and Chicago's first-round draft pick (number 9 overall) by dealing Bryant to the Bulls.

Personally, i don't thnk Chicago should do that, not even for Kobe. Kobe is frustrated with having no support but it's likely that any team he goes to will have to give up pretty much everything they have for him so he'll being going into the same situation again.

If Chicago gives up all that, they are screwed. Kobe is good, but he's not an entire team.

If the Lakers would get that much for Kobe, then its a good thing Orlando is not going after him. Cant imagine who we would have to give up for him!

Knicks and Bulls...it's really sad how much Nike's deal with players influences their players to play for those two teams. Anywhere else and he makes half as much.

Guess the Suns are the only team he'd be willing to do that for.

DEERFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Although Kobe Bryant apparently would like to join the Bulls, Chicago general manager John Paxson sent a message to the Los Angeles Lakers' superstar on Monday: Don't count on it.

Paxson said he has had no discussions with the Lakers and a deal would be difficult to complete.

"What we would have to give up -- unless that franchise would ever have a change of heart and had to do something -- I don't know how that would work," he said. "They've got one of the top, maybe the top, talents in the league. What we would have to do to get there, I don't even know what it would be. It would be significant. And then, are we better?"

Not surprising. The Lakers are not in a position to get equal value here. It will be for peanuts if the Lakers successfully trade him, like the AI deal.
