Will Coach Donovon have an Infuence On Magic Draft Picks to come??

I think he should I mean it's his team, and he is going to coach it for 5 seasons he should have some say in who he gets.Don't you think??

Yeah, but I don't think the Draft is the Magic's #1 concern. Remember, they don't have a first round pick. Their main focus this summer will be in free agency and I undoubtedly believe Coach Donovan will have a say in who we will pursue.

One thing they may do is trade some pieces for a first round pick. Donovan may want a player or two from Florida.

Let's not start the trade threads. I think this team is one player away.. There is no need for him to get some players from Florida just b/c he coached them. They might not fit the system

Yeah H2H is definitley right. There is no point in getting any of the players he coached. It does no good anyway. Plus the guys from Florida are really hyped up and wont be as good when they are split up. Unless we trade up, we wont bet getting any definite or long term talent in the 2nd round.

Yeah, I don't it would be a total necessity to grab a 1st rounder. I like our current core of young guys, and don't really wanna mess that up. Who knows though, sounded like Donovan was eager to acquire a 1st round pick. We'll see.

It did seem like he wanted to get one. Apart from Arroyo or Bogans, I don't know that the Magic have the assets to make that deal. They could try pawning Jameer off for something in the mid-teens, but I doubt it.

Speaking of Arroyo, I find it hard to believe that he has the ability to net us a 1st rounder. That just doesn't sound right to me, he's a pretty good player but not that great.

Arroyo, cash, and compromising photos of other GMs carousing with women to whom they are not married. That might work. ;)

Eh..Arroyo couldn't get us anything. It's like trying to trade a Steve Blake in an effort to get something in return that's worth anything. IMO we should just leave our PG's alone, Donovan coaches a style of basketball that Arroyo and Jameer look like they're comfortable playing.

Yeah, I think both of them will perform much better under Donovan.

There's no reason to get players from the team he coached. He have two former NCAA MVPs in Nelson and Redick and also a standout in Howard. The only player I would like to see is Green because I know he's a 2nd round pick. Don't get me wrong, Brewer and Horford would be nasty but I'm being realistic. I think Donovan will have some say in what FAs to get. Him and Otis look like they have a strong chemistry and both know where they wanna take this team.

I was thinking, maybe the Magic would trade a couple of their 2nd round picks and next years first rounder for a pick in the top 10, so they could possibly snag Brewer?

Or something along those lines.
