Part of me is still very reluctant to chop up our team, because I attribute so much of our failure to Brian Hill.  I'd like to keep the same core, minus Grant Hill and Pat Garrity, and plus Rashard Lewis and a veteran point guard.

I disagee with this statement some but agree elsewhere. I agree we should keep the Core.Howard,Milicic,Turk,Garrity,JJ.Get Rashard Lewis but play him as a SF.

The core is Ariza, Howard, Darko, and maybe Nelson everybuilding else is extendable. And i think we are the frontrunners for Lewis at this point, the 2 things i am worried about thou is if Otis does not find a way to create cap space to keep Darko and sign Lewis. And if Char does not resign Wallace (which i think they will) turning their attietion to Lewis.

From what ive been reading on the internet, it looks like we still have some question marks on our current roster to deal with.

1. Bo Outlaw is not signed for next season.
2. Travis Diener is not signed for next season.
3. We have a team option on James Augustine.
4. We know Grant Hill's future is obviously undecided.
5. We know Fran is obviously still a question mark.
6. Also Gortat is another question mark.

Outlaw and Diener are gone.
James and Gortat just like the 2 second rounders will be playing for a spot.
Grant will have to decide himself but we could only affored to give the vet min which could be a deciding factor.
And i don't care for Fran.

Hill will probley come back.
How about Trading Reddick,Vasquez,Dooling,Arroyo,Battie,Trevor R. to let say Altanta for both of it's Picks beacuse then Altanta gets PG'S with experience and then the Magic could Draft 2 Gators in the first round.
O'Neal from the Pacers would be a good fit here and also Darrell Armstrong to so he can retire as a Magic Player.

Milwaukee Bucks point guard Mo Williams, who'll be an unrestricted free agent, could throw a wrench into Thursday night's draft. There are some observers who believe the Memphis Grizzlies will make a strong pitch for Williams once free agency commences on July 1 and thus will pass on Ohio State guard Mike Conley.

The Orlando Magic, Atlanta Hawks, and Charlotte Bobcats will also have salary cap room to pursue Williams, but officials from each of those aforementioned teams said it wasn't likely they'd do so.

Thanks for posting that article, NYC. I'll have to use that information when I get around to writing about Williams for this week's free-agency countdown.

Seems like Williams would make sense for Memphis, but I wonder what they'd give up to get him.

I'm with Falcon and Gomagic on that priorities list. It has become obvious in the wake of the organization's comments that getting Hill replaced is priority #1. Good for the fans

I'm with Falcon too! GOMAGIC!

The thing I liked most about Arroyo was the way he passed the Ball, now if SVG can get that out of Jammer WOW Magic might have a good chance if they can get Rashard Lewis for the Wing player Forget Vince he's too greedy Never passes the Ball when needed just look at some of his past games.yeah a great player and all but how long do his knees hold up??? Will Vince be another Grant Hill??

You have a very good point on not to retire jersey's MagicMadness and yes you should create a "Magic Hall Of Fame" on this website so others can discuss why they agree or disagree with certain Topics about Former Magic Players of that 1995 NBA Championship Team.

Interesting to read we aren't going to pursue Williams. With Rashard on our team's mind and Billups still out there, this is a wise decision.

Maybe let Jameer go if we were to sign Billups back to the Magic. If they go that way in 07-08

The Bobcats were one of eight teams that contacted Wallace when the NBA's free agency period began at midnight Saturday. Dallas, Orlando, Milwaukee, Detroit, Miami, Portland and Golden State all made inquiries, a person close to Wallace said Sunday.

I'm shocked that there isn't much interest in Wallace. His injuries probably turned a lot of people off.

Lewis is in town and will be here for a few days... According to the sentinel:

Quote:

Free-agent small forward Rashard Lewis arrived in Orlando Sunday for his visit with the Orlando Magic, who are trying to sign him away from the Seattle SuperSonics.

Lewis had dinner with Magic General Manager Otis Smith and will be in Orlando for a couple of days to talk about the parameters of a contract and tour the Magic facilities.

Billups is on the radar as well...

Quote:

The Orlando Magic has set its sights on free agent Rashard Lewis, the Sonics' star swingman. And it seems as if Lewis wants to play close to Disney World.

"There is no better fit," Tony Dutt, Lewis' agent, told the Orlando Sentinel.

The Magic has a backup plan if it fails to land Lewis, and it involves the Pistons' Chauncey Billups.

The backup plan thing seems to involve either Gerald Wallace or Chauncey. Personally, I'd be happy with either.
