i say we go for it, what do we have to lose. CWebb is a good passer. Trevs season is done, personally i like battie alot, but Cwebb most likely can put up the same stats if not better and pass the ball better.

I say stay away. Webber is horrible at defense and is declining rapidly.

i say we pick him up till Air-iza is healthy. if he play good up to then we keep him. if not we trade him, or just bench him.

Orlando Sentinel -
The Orlando Magic are still interested in Chris Webber but they are not guaranteeing him a starting position.

"He doesn't want to come off the bench," said a Magic official who wants to remain anonymous.

The Magic do believe the rumors that the Detroit Pistons are the frontrunner's for Webber's services.

However, Magic General Manager Otis Smith has not thrown in the towel just yet.

"No. We're still talking."

i don't want to mess with our team...young and talented, we don't need an old PF....

plus have you watched him lately? he can barely run and can barely dunk....

he can still pass and hit the medium range jumper but he can't defend or rebound and he is more trouble than he is worth anyway

Guys, we only have a miniscule chance of landing Webber, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. I would be very surprised if Smith could lure Webber away from playing in Michigan again (especially considering Webber wants to start).

I dont know about that. The Magic are considered one of the front runners to land Webber. We have been mentioned by Realgm 2 times about him coming to Orlando. Otis Smith has talked a few times about how hes inquiring about Webber and has interest. He would most likely start even if he did come because he would take Battie's spot on the roster.

Detroit Free Press -
Chris Webber can't officially become a Piston until after the three-day weekend, but a team source said Friday afternoon a deal was nearly done to bring the Detroit native home.

ESPN.com reported Friday night that Webber would not make a decision about his new team before today, but it still seems likely that by next week, the Pistons will start the former Michigan star alongside Rasheed Wallace, Tayshaun Prince, Richard Hamilton and Chauncey Billups.

Coach Flip Saunders said he couldn't comment on any specifics regarding Webber's decision, but said any team would hope he brings 20 points and 10 rebounds — "what he did last year."

Yeah, I doubt that's going to happen...

Webber just isn't the same anymore. But, he should definitely help solidify their front court.

Webber played his first game last night and scored 2 points, looking shaky on defense and horrific at best on offense. Glad we stayed away. Most analysts are saying he could help ruin detroit.

I wouldn't mind seeing him ruin Detroit. I'm always game for a good ol' meltdown.

I would love to see him ruin Detroit, especially because they are in the East. They are one of the teams ahead of us... to they need to go down.
