We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. Otis Smith's comments yesterday at 5pm on 740AM were the following: - On sending Augustine to the D-League - He'll be playing for Anaheim and his first game is tomorrow night. Augustine will play 6 games before returning to Orlando and Otis said Augustine needs to play, he hasn't played competitively in 3 months - they like everything he brings to the team, is still a member of their roster and will be listed as inactive. - Regarding the current health of the Magic - Dooling will return tonight, and Otis thinks having Hill and Nelson both back and healthy will improve their chances this time around against Golden State. The only player questionable for tonight vs. Golden State is Turkoglu, who is having flu-like symptoms. - On Arroyo's recent play - Understands he's been struggling a bit. Arroyo has a lot of pride and puts a lot of pressure on himself while on the court. Otis isn't too concerned and thought Arroyo played much better vs. Boston than he had in awhile. - Otis will be heading to Europe to speak with Fran Vasquez. Said he hasn't talked to Vasquez since they drafted him but has talked to his agent (who is also Darko's agent) quite often. Said he wants to see where Vasquez stands in his own mind - Dave Twardzik (sp) has spoken to Vasquez a few times as the "good cop" and Otis said its gonna be the opposite when he speaks with Vasquez and will be viewed as the "bad bad bad bad cop". Maybe he'll speak some sense into him. - Apparently its being reported that Chris Webber will be bought out by Philly and be available at the trade deadline. When asked what he would say if Webber came up to him and requested a spot on the Magic, Otis said he would consider his options - he said Webber is good to grab 10 rebounds and drop 16-18 ppg but also stated Webber isn't what he used to be and isn't too attractive at a 21mil/yr price tag, it would have to be GREATLY reduced. |

If Otis brings Fran over he could really help us, yeah he made a mistake in the past and that is over with. Lets think more positive instead of the negatives, he is a better player than Darko at the moment! C-Howard-Battie-Gortat PF-Milicic-Vazquez-Augustine Young, but nice frontcourt! |

I second that. Even if you see Frans stats and they seem decent or good, dont forget the talent level he is playing against over in Europe. |
