Augustine set for D-League

The Magic will send rookie F James Augustine, their second-round pick out of Illinois last June, to the Anaheim Arsenal of the NBA's Developmental League.

Coach Brian Hill said after Friday's shoot-around that, "James just needs to play."

Augustine has not played in a game this season, unable to crack the big-man rotation of Dwight Howard, Tony Battie and Darko Milicic.

Augustine will be the first player the Magic have sent to the D-League. They toyed with the idea of sending him earlier this season, but nixed the plan.

The Magic were cool to sending PG Travis Diener last season to the now-defunct Florida Flame of the NBDL.

Heres the link to the Anaheim Arsenel page if you want to follow his progress: http://www.nba.com/dleague/anaheim/

They are not a very good team, so hopefully that means he will get some good minutes. Just for information, some of the other players on the Arsenal are Andre Owens, Jawad Williams, Corsley Edwards, and Ha Seung-Jin. So yea they are pretty bad.

Maybe this means Darko's injury isn't that bad. Because I thought Augustine might have been given a few minutes if Darko was going to be out for awhile. Good to see Augustine get out and play. I'll definitely be checking on him in the D-League.

BJ Elder! I was wondering where that guy went.
Augustine interests me way less than Morcin Gortat, but it is still encouraging to see him doing well. Hopefully he sees some Angels games, works on his game, and comes back to us improved.
