How do you know its not a distraction right now? Are you in that locker room? OK, here's an example you might be able to understand. You're working at Mcdonalds and there's a single mom who has a 2 year old so sometimes she comes to work, sometimes she calls in sick to watch her sick kid, or the kid is off from school or whatever. The other people have to cover for her which scrambles everything else. Now instead of having to cook the fries and burgers, you need to work the drive-thru and mop up after work. It happens regularly and you never know what you'll be asked to do to cover for her. Everything still gets done, but its not optimal efficiency. In contrast take a worker that comes in every day when they are suppose to and does a good job, she may not be the best burger flipper but you know what your going to get from her day in and day out. You know they're going to be there so you know what you need to do in your job. (In the "real world" the INCONSISTENT person probably wouldn't be employed there very long).

Now, its not Grant fault he got hurt. He's a good guy and all and I'm all for signing him for VET MINIMUM but forcasting his health, I think it would be harder to build around a piece that might or might not be there, especially when you have young upstarts like Ariza.

And next season probably won't be any different (no improvement) if Hill comes back and we try to ride him too much. I still see Hill as an important part to this team, but more as a VET role player. You said it yourself, he plays we win, he doesn't play we still win...sounds like a role player if you ask me. Its time to pass the torch and let these young guys lead the team.

You are making much ado about nothing. The leading scorer for our team is any bodys guess. Thats whats great about having a deep team. Any player could be the leading scorer every night. Grant doesnt lead the team in scoring or in any other category for that matter, and he hasnt scored the highest every game. We arent looking for him to score the most points every night, just the nights that no one else is. We can win without him (just look at last nights game), but there are some nights when we need him to step up and take control. Its not a nightly basis, so its obvious that he doesnt constantly kill himself for every game so no harm done.

The young guys are great and obviously we know this since our bench is one of the best. Brian Hill doesnt play Grant for 48 min a game... Grant averages about 30 min a game. He does limit his minutes. But Hill might only play for another season or two. So there is no point in limiting his minutes even more because we need his scoring punch and veteran leadership until we get a replacement.

I agree it would be time to to cut ties with Grant if he breaks down again.I mean he signed a 7 year contract & how many times did he breakdown over those 7 years?? The real question is would Ariza be better since he's younger and D12 likes his play.I mean did you see that AWESOME DUNK on Oakafor??? And D12 hits a 3 WOW!!!
