We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. You can also visit the original MagicMadness Forum at http://orlandomagic.proboards.com.

I would agree with the last two paragaphs. Artest is a great player, but one which is not made for us. |

No trades for 'suspect characters,' Magic say (NO HEADCASES) Magic General Manager Otis Smith said he has essentially made it known throughout the league that he has no interest in acquiring troubled players or players with suspect character. "I think I've pretty much gotten that out there," Smith said. Smith was not interested in Allen Iverson, and he said the Sacramento Kings -- who are apparently looking to trade controversial F Ron Artest -- did not contact the Magic." http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/bask...?coll=orl-magic |

Artest might be a reach, but I think we would have benefited greatly by getting Iverson |

Of course. We could say that about any superstar, but the smart man looks at the team chemistry and knows when to say no. Otis is a very smart man and realizes what to do for the best interest of the team. His slow trigger on trades is very helpful. Luckily hes not like some around here wo want to jump up and make trades just because were not doing so well. Let me give you a little advice: Keep the team, wait it out, they will come around just like last season and the beginning of this season. Just like a great coach once said, "Basketball is a game of runs" and all teams make runs and have losing spells. The losing will stop. |

I could go either way with Artest. If we did persue him, he would have to be a role player on our team so he could be expendable should his brain short out again. |
