Well Magic madness fans......all is not lost. Board favorite Jameer Nelson showed great defensive prowess holding all star Smush Parker to a mere 18 3rd quarter points. Of course Jameer ran the offense flawlessly when on the floor (a great night....7 whole assists!!!).

Yes, we can all be proud of the growth of Jameer as a player. We are indeed lucky to have such a talent running this team. Without Jameer's countless contributions the game would not have been nearly as close. Yes, Smush outplayed him badly when it counted, but we are talking about SMUSH PARKER, one of the NBA's big time superstars. Not every team can have a Smush Parker, we have to be content with Jameer, well, cause....just because.....you know...he is a cornerstone.

We are blessed

Dude all I have to say is this is not the time for those kind of jokes. Otis needs to do something cause something is definately wrong with this team.

What about Nelson's 7 assists there brutal? That's what you've been calling for, I thought. I think Jameer could have 50 points and hit a game winning shot and you would complain about his FT% for the night. This loss is hardly on his shoulders completely.

Honestly: you're annoying.
And not because you are right about what you say, but because you only see what you want.
Jameer made both 2nd and 3rd quarter full minutes because chucker arroyo got hit on the first. Smush is just another player to add to the list of "s**tty players who have career nights against the Magic". Jameer defense wasn't brilliant but it wasn't bad either.
Obviously you'll grab those 18 points from Smush as your argument like your life would depend on it.

Our problem was team defense and poor (again) team offense. We're playing down tempo ball, and to be honest IMO it's a big mistake. We have such a deep team, a PG who runs the floor with a lot of energy and a big man who could become the new Amare from 2 years ago. But our stagnant offense doesn't allow it.
IMO this is all, purely, coaching fault.

Nelson might be a problem and we might need to deal him, but Parker just got hot tonight. Nelson had more assists than anyone else tonight and drove to the basket more instead of taking more wild jump shots. He played better tonight than against the Cavs.

I knew I could count on the Jameer fans to come through. If the Magic don't allow Parker to go nuts in the third they take control. No, Jameer is not the sole reason, however...as I have always maintained the PG play is the major weakness of this team.

Don't mean to offend anyone but people who think that this team is fine as it is are being naive.

Pathetic game that should have been won. I wanna hear what our coach has to say about this loss cause he is definitely doing a terrible job.

Oh, and another thing: Howard became a worse player since BHill told him he was a C and not a PF.
He is a natural PF with an amazing first step. He needs to play PF again.

No it's not.
It's the lack of perimeter offense.
It has been so since last year.
And our outside shooters (Nelson and Turk) seem to be afraid to shoot from outside because clearly the coaching tells the team to play one-on-one even against zone defense.

Brutal if you're argument is for Arroyo to play over Nelson then I think it's a mute point. Arroyo is not the answer. He is a shoot first point guard and this team already has that in Nelson, although I think Nelson looks to pass a little more than Arroyo. We have a great young duo riding the bench because of a poor coach. I guarantee that this team would be way better off starting Denier and JJ. That would give this team what they sorely need which is some players that can hit an outside shot. Also Dwight needs to be the first player down the court on offense to draw in the defense like Amare does. This team needs to be an up tempo style of offense not the stagnant, boring crap they run now.

Brian Hill isn't going anywhere. This team is not capable of dictating tempo on just about anyone, which is a sign of weakness in the NBA. I think that we play better down tempo, we just cannot force the tempo and end up playing the other teams game. If this team went to an up tempo style of play it would be...well...remember the Johnny Davis team, the one that after a decent start got blown out on a regular basis.

I may be annoying, but I know I am right. Put a real playmeker out there, someone that can spot open men and play defense, takes control of the game and this team would be fine. Don't you get tired of the same mistakes, the same turnovers, the same defensive lapses all the time??? I do.

I am no fan of JJ as this board can tell you. I am of the opinion Diener is a better option than Nelson and Arroyo who are basicly the same undisciplined player wearing different numbers.

Yet Jameer had 7 assists to 3 turnovers and you're saying you're tired of the "same turnovers"? He wasn't the cause for the turnovers, he wasnt holding the ball too much and found several guys open for shots when he penetrated to the rim. So, I'm, sorry to tell you, but your arrogance on the "I know I'm right" is what makes you dumber.

On the dictating tempo: tell me, does Washington have a better roster than we do? They have Arenas and Jamison and that's about it on terms of talent. They don't have a single good big man. Yet they started playing uptempo and I'm sorry to tell you but they just stole our division lead from us. Don't compare this team and its depth/talent to the JD times... that's simply absurd!

We need to start running on the floor. In this system we will be able to score 100 in a couple of games more until the season ends and it's more than obvious that we won't be holding teams to 80 points against us. We need to start scoring. Our team is simply boring to watch and it's not a "Spurs kind of boring"... it's a "boring because every single play we go on a 1on1 and pray for the basket".
We need to start spreading the floor with runs and use outside threats like Diener and JJ (hell, even garrity would probably start having open looks) because we can afford to. This team can't play down tempo anymore because every other NBA team knows that a simple zone defense is enough to stop us.
