Grant Hill isn't being traded

Magic General Manager Otis Smith wants to put to rest any speculation about trading Grant Hill because Hill has an expiring contract.

"No," Smith said. "I don't see that happening at any point."

Hill's name was bandied about nationally in talks about Allen Iverson. Their salaries almost match (Hill makes about $17 million this season, Iverson $18), but Smith reiterated that the Magic have no interest in acquiring AI.

Smith said he has yet to receive calls from teams interested in acquiring Hill, 34.

Expiring contracts are valuable for teams looking to clear salary-cap room. But Smith doubts any trade scenario involving Hill could benefit the Magic, considering most clubs would either want to trade Orlando bad contracts and/or suspect characters in an exchange.

Well, its a smart move since Grant might play for the vet minimum after this year. That would push us to title contenders.

how sweet would this be? we trade hill and a pick for iverson (not saying thats ever going to happen) and then the sixers cut hill because they only wanted his contract and we resign him after he passes waivers. haha. just a thought/dream. that would be funny as hell.
