it was a good win zuppafly. we had a rough start, but we bounced back and played solid for the next 3 quarters. diener had a nice game and redick did ok. milicic was one rebound shy of a double double.

Yeah, I'm now paying attention to the boxscore and it seems Darko had a great night!
And bouncing back from a terrible first quarter and helding the Cavs to an ever worse second period must have been awesome to watch!

yeah we played some solid defense in the 2nd quarter and actually for the rest of the game. it really fueled our transition game and we got some easy baskets in the open court. we had some great ball movement througout. that was probably the best part of the game. we had plenty of open looks from outside and we actually hit them (5-10 from the 3 pt line). hopefully we can get healthy, get some rest and go over some things (free throw shooting) in practice with our 3 days off.

ill never understand why hill puts in garrity before outlaw. bo adds energy the second he gets into the game. garrity turns the ball over 3 times in 4 min. hes terrible. i dont get it.

I hate the rotation with Garrity on it. I know we need a big that spreads the floor, blah-blah, but Garrity is not that player anymore. He is just horrible out there. At least Bo gives us energy and hustle plays.

If we need to spread the floor, put JJ and Diener in.

Orlando's Hedo Turkoglu missed his fifth straight game with an ankle sprain and Jameer Nelson missed his third straight with a groin pull. Both are expected back by Wednesday's game against the Hornets. ... Howard has now led the Magic in rebounding in 25 of 26 games. ... Cleveland had shot 49.4 percent and averaged 101.5 points in its previous four games. ... The four-point play by rookie J.J. Redick was the first for Orlando this season.

Oh good Nelson and Turk are expected back in time to play the Hornets. Thats great because ill be at the game. ;)

The Orlando Magic hope to build off their latest win.

The Magic recovered from a 13-point deficit in the first quarter Saturday night to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 81-74 and end a three-game losing streak.

"There are certain games in a season where you can feel the momentum swing for your team and I'm hoping this is one of those for us," Magic coach Brian Hill said. "We beat a first-place team with a couple of our key guys injured and that's got to give the rest of the team a lot of confidence."

The Magic had lost six of their last eight games before beating a Cleveland team that had the best record in the Eastern Conference. Grant Hill scored 21 points to lead Orlando, and Dwight Howard added 14 points, 16 rebounds and five blocks.

"Sometimes you forget how to win and let the kind of adversity we've been going through eat you up," Hill said. "But we've got a reason to feel good about ourselves after this one. We didn't do everything right, but we did win and that's going to change everyone's mood for sure."

This is what happened in that 1st quarter against the Cavs..................... "Orlando missed 10 shots in a row and 11 of its first 12 for an icy 8.3 percent, with four turnovers.

The Magic were an unspeakable 2-of-16 at one point, scoring just 12 points in the first quarter to trail by 11.

Then a funny thing happened on the way to an embarrassing rout: Another game broke out, and the Magic finished worlds better than they started."

I just finished watching the game - recorded again. It was a good win, and here are my thoughts:

Arroyo had a sub-par game, again. Very little movement with him on the floor, but his shot selection was MUCH better.

I thought the defense on Lebron was fantastic. Sure he got his points, but we really limited all the little things he does on the court. Great job by Dooling/Ariza/Hill keeping him under control.

I thought the ball movement when Deiner was on the court was excellent. With him and JJ in the lineup, the ball never stopped moving and we got a ton of great looks at the basket. Deiner's shots were falling, and he is playing with a ton of confidence right now. JJ looked a little more comfortable once again, and his shot selection was much better as well. A lot of his shots rattled around the rim and popped back out. I think his in-game shooting touch will come back with increased time. Both of them played some sparkling defense tonight. JJ nearly stopped Larry Hughes out on the perimeter almost the entire time he was in the game, and Deiner played some good help defense as well.

Hill looked rested and effective. Howard still looks frustrated out there, but still managed to be quite productive.

We had a lot of energy out there - espescially with the Deiner-Redick-Ariza combination on the floor.

Milicic continues to dissapoint. He is spending too much time standing around, and not enough time boxing out. Statistically, he had a decent game, but he let a lot of rebounds get by him and a lot of points pass him by.

Overall, good game by our team. It will certainly be nice getting our injured guys back, although it will probably signal a significant drop off in minutes for Redick and Deiner.

These next 3 games are huge. At home to NO and GS, then at Cleve before another 3 days off.

I wasn't able to watch this game beginning to end, but I caught some of it. It was a great win for Orlando. We needed this, after losing 3 in a row.

Which begs the question......when the injured guys get back who goes inactive...

Here is my take...

Augistine is a given.

Garrity has played himself into street clothes as far as I am concerned. Pat is toast as an NBA player from what I have seen, let him play out the contract as a deactivated roster spot (say he has a left thigh contusion or something), and think about releasing him if a better option comes avaliable, be it NBADL or waver wire. Pat can then retire and get a banner on a future "commitment to the past night". I will always remember Pat fondly, we got him as part of the sign and trade with Phoenix for Penny Hardaway, and got tbe best of that deal. Hardaway's career was a disaster post Orlando, he became salary cap baggage for the Suns and later the Knicks while Pat outlasted him as a player and probably, dollar for dollar, was more valuable to his team overall then Penny was.

Now the third spot....I would not be surprised to see Jameer kept down until he is 100% healthy, This delays the decision that has to be made, and will hopefully mean an effective Jameer when he comes back. I think he will be on the spot and the Magic will want to have no injury issues effecting an evaluation of his play.

I also think that the Magic may want to further evaluate Diener. I would not be surprised to see him starting Wed, night with Arroyo coming off the bench. Carlos is probably better suited to being a bench player. Is Diener the real deal? Remember he had a very impressive training camp and its getting to the point that you almost have to give him some kind of shot at becoming a member of the rotation. This guy is just flat out effective whenever he plays....can he keep it up?

So, Jameer comes back, do you deactivate Diener or JJ? I cannot imagine Bogans going inactive, if Garrity goes inactive you have to keep Outlaw active. JJ will probably get minutes on the Grant Hill "nights off".

Gonna be interesting....

it is going to be interesting to see who they put on the inactive list, but i dont see diener getting put into the starting lineup for next game. besides jameer being back, i think it takes more than a few good games for brian hill to change a starting lineup.

Hopefully Garrity goes MIA. He is a shell of a shell of the old Pat Garrity. It was a good run, ol buddy, but it's time he hangs up the sneakers. I think the other inactive, for the next few games, should go to Nelson, until he is 100% ready to go again. When he comes back, I say the inactive spot goes to either Deiner or Redick (probably Redick), depending on other injury situations.
