Yes! I can't say we are back, but we certainly have a "gem" in Diener. |

Good win tonight. Looked like it was gonna be another loss after a horrible 1st quarter but we worked well to get ourselves back into it. All hail Diener tonight. |

if by "gem" you mean a spark off the bench and a player that knows how to play within the system and not turn the ball over, then yes, he is a gem. my idea of a gem is someone that is a star in the making. im not trying to be a downer at all. diener played great tonight. arroyo should take some notes from him and stop dribbling so damn much. i always thought that diener should get some minutes when arroyo or nelson arent playing well. redick wasnt too bad either. hes still gotta hit those open shots, but everyone misses. i think hes gaining more and more confidence with each game. this was a nice win and i hope this can get us back on the right track. hopefully nelson and turk can get back soon. its nice to be at full strength. |

Gee......and who said that first?????? I really like Diener, don't want to get too over the top about him, but everything about this team looked better when he was involved. I only hope he stays part of the rotation in some fashion after Jameer gets back. I am sure the JJ contingent is pleased with his 2-6 night, but even I have to say his presence did spread the floor. Still not drinking the Kool-Aid on him, but got nothing but positive things to say about his role tonight. The Cavs helped out with a low energy effort, but the Magic really responded with excellent defensive effort after Cleveland got off the the 13-2 start. I have two hard and fast rules that apply to sports... 1. In football, the prevent defense prevents you from winning. 2. Solid defense in any sport they keep score in will keep you in games and allow you to win. I love the effort tonight....kuddo's to Grant Hill and Dwight for outstanding efforts, Darko was on his game, Dooling did all the little things we need and hit a couple big shots, but in my mind tonight belongs to Travis Diener, he was the sparkplug that got the team started, and played well all night (only 1 turnover in 28 minutes....solid). Big win...now the team can recharge a bit, get healthy, and hopefully be energized next time we see them. Brutal |

good game all around tonight. arroyo was the only bad spot in this game. diener is a solid player. i dont think anyone has denied that. gem? thats something entirely different. i think we all have the same opinion of diener, but different meanings of the word "gem." |

ok, i disagree. i dont think diener can be a star in this league, but he is most certainly effective. how much do you want to offer diener when is contract is up? there is a point where its too much money to keep a player. if diener wants to sign for what we gave bogans, then im all for it. once again, not a gem in my book, but a player that we should hold on to for the right price. how many bad games does diener have to have before people on this board start to ask for hill to sit him? just curious. the power of one good game is really amazing. not to say that diener isnt going to have more good games, but to say that we should never let him go is really jumping the gun. we shouldnt overpay him. |

What do you guys think about JJ's defense? I thought it was pretty OK. I am not saying good, but he was always in front of his man and it was adequate. So if he can be consistent with that jumper, he will be another valuable contributor to this team. Now, Coach Hill seriously need to limit Garrity's minute to say about 3 mins a game. He is just lost out there. |

Actually, if I remember correctly, Diener already had at least 2 good games for us. This one and the last game as well. We don't really know how good he is since he has not been given much PT. I would still prefer to have Jameer or Arroyo in front of him on the rotation, but he should be given more PT. When he plays our offense looks in sync. On the "gem" thing. The definition is something of value. There are precious and semi-precious gem - but valuable none-the-less. This is how I see Diener for this Magic team right now. Not "star" valuable, but he makes our offense click. He has shown that in the games he was given PT. |

Heck, I didn't saw the game, only arrived home now. Glad to see a win, and by your posts I assume Diener and JJ had a good night (JJ only 2-6, but if Brutal said his presence was good tonight then I assume he was good tonight ). You're lucky I didn't saw the game Brutal, or I'd be massacrating you with mor "give JJ minutes" posts ![]() And Diener, just watching his stats...well, what more do I need to say about him being a good player and doing well when given minutes? Nothing. That kid is good. Period. All in all, a win is a win, and no matter what players were better tonight. Another win is all that matters! Now a few days off, some trainings and getting our guys healty is all we need to come back strong and have another run of good wins! |
