We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. Well, I'm still root, root, rooting for the home team, and they still don't win, and it's still a shame. They have a lot of good pieces though, it's just a matter of getting healthy and staying that away. I wasn't in favor of the Lugo trade a couple weeks ago, but it was neccessary to bring up B.J. Upton (and Ben Zobrist). A healthy Jonny Gomes, Rocco Baldelli, Scott Kazmir, and Ty Wigginton would go a long way for this team as well. Kazmir threw 10 strikeouts in 5 scoreless innings a few games back, and got a loss. I feel so bad for the guy, he can't buy a win. He's (in my opinion) a top-10 pitcher in this league, but suffers from so little run support that he's been stuck at 10 wins for months. If nothing else, Crawford and Baldelli should be here for a long time to come, and I truly do have hope that this team is on the right track now and will have at least a .500 team within a few seasons. |

This year's team is ridiculously young and athletic. Carl Crawford, Delmon Young, Elijah Dukes, Rocco Badelli, BJ Upton, Iwamura, and power hitters Jonny Gomes and Ty Wigginton. If only we had more than one pitcher, we'd do fine. We had a lead on opening day against those damned Yankees, but our relievers gave it up - as usual. |

Rooting on the Rays, right? The Yankees should demolish Jae Soe, but hopefully the Devil Rays bats and speed can do some damage to the Yankee bullpen as well. Have fun at the game! |

Yea....snow wasnt that bad. barely any. I thought after they tied it in the 7th inning they would win for sure. Damn Arod strikes again! One thing is for sure. Tampa Bay has some good hitters. That rookie Elijah Dukes has power!! He ripped a line driver that I thought was going straight to Arod at 3rd base, instead it went over the left field fence! It was crushed! |

Don't laugh too hard, he's batting .406... And the Rays are leading the AL in home runs, stolen bases, and are 2nd in team batting average. Unfortunately, our two middle relievers have a combined ERA of just over 21 - which has directly resulted in about 4 of our losses. |

Seeing as how the Devil Rays just passed the New York Yankees in the standings, I thought it would be an appropraite time to give a mini state-of-the-Rays address. BJ Upton, who has absorbed his share of insults on message boards such as this one, is batting .351, with a .403 obp. He has 3 home runs, 12 runs scored, 15 RBIs, and a handful of stolen bases. Not to mention he has been a dandy second baseman! The rest of the team is continuing to hit, run, and field extremely well. And, finally, the pitching is coming around. We haven't blown a sizeable lead in a while, and we have a very solid closer in Reyes. Look out Yankees, it's your turn to ride in the AL East caboose.

Im not worried about the Yankees yet. Its been the same story the last couple seasons. They get off to a slow start. Lose in Boston. Mariano blows a couple saves and every one is writing the Yankees off already, they wont make the playoffs. Yankees will turn it around for sure. |
