Looks like a few teams are interested in him actually.

The Times-Union - The Miami Dolphins released Daunte Culpepper on Tuesday, ending the former Pro Bowl quarterback's short stint in South Florida while fueling widespread speculation that he could become a Jacksonville Jaguar.

In an e-mail to the Times-Union on Tuesday, Culpepper said he has not "spoken to anyone yet" about playing for what would be his third NFL team.

"I just hope that there is still a team or two out there that has an opportunity for a hard-working quarterback who is willing to come in and contribute wherever needed," Culpepper said. "I am ready to get into a training camp so that I can prepare for the 2007 season."

Daunte's new team will automatically be my favorite UNLESS he joins the Patriots, in which case he'll be dead to me.

I was a UCF season-ticket holder for his junior and senior seasons. I remember crying at the conclusion of his final game. :(

I'm not a UCF fan or a student (though I pull for them), but back in '96 I did go with my family to see a Knights game when he was in his senior season and I remember that he threw some sort of record (or near record) of completed passes in a row that they later announced had just been mentioned on ESPN.

Anyways, like most Central Floridians, I've always been pulling for him to succeed in the NFL. It's sad that his career has taken such a big hit the past 2-3 seasons...I sincerely hope he can turn it around and end up finishing his career on a high note somewhere. Man, I remember when he was on the cover of Madden 2002. How time flies, especially in the NFL.

That Dolphins Culpepper Jersey...what a waste.

It's hanging up in my closet next to my Ricky Williams jersey. Boy, do I know how to pick em!

Awesome NYC! I'll be rooting for my guys to get their first win, but overall hope you have a great time at the game. I'm going to the Dolphins-Jets game the following weekend, so we'll have plenty to report back.

Wow...this Dolphins team is really not looking good. After having such a good draft, I'm surprised we aren't throwing more talented young guys out there. Trent Green just looked mentally spent from the 2nd quarter on. I kept waiting for Cam Cameron to bench him, and when he benched Ronnie Brown out of nowhere instead I think almost all the Dolphins' fans jaws dropped.

Going to be a long season. I'm seeing them live next weekend in NJ so hopefully they rebound off of this loss. If they lose next week you gotta start at least declaring John Beck active for the games moving forward.

Got back late last night. Was a little nervous at the start of the second half because the Cowboys seemed to be containing the Dolphins and then they come right down field and take the lead. Luckily the Cowboys got some turnovers and put the game away.

There were ALOT of Cowboys fans at the game as there always is on the road. After the Terrell Owens TD which pretty much locked it up for Dallas, alot of Miami fans started leaving and the stadium was left with all Cowboys fans and they started a "Lets Go Cowboys" chant. Was really cool!

More bad news for the 'Fins. Zach Thomas and Donovan Darius are out Sunday against the Jets. We already are sucking bad. So far this season looks like another nightmare.

I agree MME. This season is really looking like something a horse barfed up. I am going to the Dolphins game sunday, so hopefully this is the beginning of a turnaround. Between the Dolphins and Jets, whichever team loses this one is pretty much toast this year.

Just got back from the game. The offense looked great, especially Ronnie Brown, but the defense in no way, shape, or form could stop an 80 year old woman (let alone another football team).

This is going to be a long, long, LONG season. Sigh.

Breaking News: Chris Chambers traded to San Diego!

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AjQB...ov=ap&type=lgns

At first I was a bit dismayed, but I guess we need to get a good look at Ted Ginn Jr and start planning for the future. This move is the first one to officially indicate that the team is rebuilding.
