I think WH cursed the Dolphins by forcing Shula to quit in 95.
Dolphins have had some bad luck since then.
Maybe Don is getting tired of the steakhouse business..... :D

Did Saban have some kind of "Out" Clause in his contract?? Its weird how he was able to just leave Miami like that. He had to have something like that in his contract.

Three words: What...a....d**k.

The media is killing him for leaving, rightfully so, saying he lied several times that he was going to stay with the fins.

I think it is for the best that Saban is leaving. The dolphins have their pick of the coaching elite right now, and I am already looking hard at the amazing offensive coordinator of the chargers.

That was messed up what Saban did. I don't know why he didn't just say he might go to Alabama or something, I don't know why he lied about it. And why would he want to leave the NFL to go to Alabama. I think he was even getting paid more in the NFL. I don't understand it.

Hes a liar. He stated many times he wouldnt leave and he left. We better get a good coach now that hes gone.

Word is that Saban's limo motorcade caused an accident or two when it arrived in Alabama. He is a walking force of destruction.

He couldn't very well admit that he is considering another coaching job while the season was still in progress. That'll kill a career faster than you can say "Jim Mora."

Oh, and here's some good news for you Dolphin fans...

Quote:

MIAMI -- Ricky Williams, who is serving a year suspension from the NFL for violating its substance abuse policy, has passed all his drug tests and intends to apply for readmission to the NFL in April, his agent said Thursday.

Williams, who spent his year of exile with the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL, had a strong relationship with former Dolphins coach Nick Saban. But despite Saban's departure to Alabama, Williams intends to return to the Dolphins, said his agent, Leigh Steinberg.

"Ricky's contract is with the Miami Dolphins and he fully intends to apply for reinstatement in April and return to play for the Dolphins," Steinberg said.

He said Williams is living in northern California, where he's practicing yoga, and that the broken arm he suffered while playing in the CFL has healed. Williams gained 231 yards on 57 carries and one touchdown and caught seven passes for 58 yards in an injury-shortened season for the Argos.

Saban, for his part, believes Williams' return can help the Dolphins.

"God knows about No. 34, but if he comes back, you win three or four more games if the guy is playing, I'm telling you," Saban said Thursday. "He's got a presence."

Williams suddenly retired in July 2004, then returned in 2005 after serving a four-game suspension for an earlier violation of the substance abuse policy. In his year away from the game he became a certified yoga instructor and studied holistic medicine.

Anyone excited?

Miami's coaching decision is hopefully coming soon.
Seems like it is between Chan Gailey, Jim Mora Jr, Mike Shula, and Marty Schottenheimer (if he gets fired). Quite a crap pool. I guess I would go with either Marty or Mora.

Dolphins might be getting a new logo!

http://www.uniwatchblog.com/

Apparently the NFL creative director said in an interview that she is working on new logos for the Dolphins and Chargers, and is working on updating the NFL logo.

Should be interesting! Go fins!

Monday, Bloody monday!

Joey Harrington cut! Good riddance!
Randy McMichael cut! Tough choice, but we had to avoid the bonus he would make.
Wes Welker traded to the Patriots for a second and seventh rounder! Dolphins made out like bandits in this one.
Dan Wilkenson goes to the Broncos! I don't mind at all.

Cam Cameron era beginning with a bang. I love all of these moves (although I wish we could have gotten something in return for McMichael).

I've always really liked Randy McMichael. It's a shame he got cut by the 'fins...

Yeah this sucks. I hope we dont get end up bitten in the a** for letting go of McMichael. And i didnt think Harrington did that bad... How can we fill the voids of Welker (our leading reciever), Harrington (our once starter) and McMichael (a pretty good TE)? The draft? I doubt it... Hopefully FA can help. But i dont think we could get much worse... We were a dreadful 6-10 so we are most likely going up not down...;)

Well look at it this way:

-Cam Cameron has a history of working very well with tight ends. He looked at Randy McMichael and thought he could do better with a cheaper alternative. Randy had a pretty bad year last year, and was criticized heavily for his words in the locker room and taking plays off.

-Harrington finished the season as our #3, with Cleo Lemon easily outperforming him. Harrington tried to use Tom Brady's "Quick short passes routine", but wouldnt look when he threw, which amounted to a ton of Ints at the end of the day. He was seriously going nowhere, sad to say.

-Welker was our #3 slot receiver, and we got BETTER compensation for him than Marshall Faulk got in his prime and a ton of other people. The compensation we got was extremely good, and the Patriots are paying him WAY too much longterm which will hurt them in the future.

So to recap: dropped dead weight, now have money to make some splashes in free agency (word is we are aquiring Steelers LB Joey Porter!!!!!! also Kelley Washington and maybe Kevin Curtis!!!), and suddenly have way more draft picks than we have had in recent memory. We can even trade up now with that second from the Welker trade to get a top 5 pick this year.

Most dolphins fans are rejoicing on rooftops. I am one of those too (especially if we get Joey Porter!)
