We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. You can also visit the original MagicMadness Forum at http://orlandomagic.proboards.com.

yeah I think that spot by the convention center would be perfect, definitely better in drawing more people. This area by the convention center is way more centralized than downtown. There are alotta folks in kissimee, and even more developments being built in Clermont and Haines city. I-Drive would be a good idea. |

its not as bad as some of you think. im sure you guys think its old because youve been to so many games, but when i went down there last year, it looked pretty new. if someone told me that it was built 5 years ago, i would probably believe them. the outside is beautiful. the inside may need a litttle bit of work. the rotunda inside is too thin. but i dont think the magic need a new arena BADLY. im all for a new arena, if it means that the magic get to stay in orlando. and besides, i wont have to pay taxes for it either, lol. im just glad i got to see a game in the original arena where the 94-95 team went to the finals. |

I think its stupid to have an arena is a tourist section. It doesnt make sense. Why would a bunch of tourists want to go to an ORLANDO game if their from out of state. And if they do their prolly gonna be rootin against us. I rather it be in downtown orlando where it is now, the people that go to the games are true fans not a bunch of gay tourists (no offence). Who cares if its in the hood, thats how all stadiums and arenas are. Tampa is much worse then an Orlando game. When I went to a bucs game there we're cops everywhere and helis and junk. |

Actually, not that many NBA arenas are in areas such as our Parramore. The Pistons play out in the suburbs. ![]() First off, my dad and uncle own a sh*tload of property restoring old houses into apartments and duplexes down at Parramore and South Street, and we have a house on Lake Dot on the North side of the O-Rena, so I get free parking whenever I go to a game. Used to do parking on the lot at $5 per car where we could fit as much as 30 cars. I'd get paid $10 a game plus any tips I'd get just for watching their cars (not bad for 11-years-old making $400+ a season). ![]() I have friendships with a lot of people down at Parramore so I don't worry about anything, too bad every white person is scurred sh*tless. ![]() Keep in mind, this isn't gonna be just an arena, you're gonna get an entertainment center (I have no idea what else it could involve, probably movie theaters or something). Buddy Dyer doesn't do sh*t for us, whatever happens, IT'S ALL RICH CROTTY. The guy has been busting his a** to get us an arena for a few years now, and this might be the opportunity we've been waiting for.I live 20 minutes from Downtown, and it would probably only take me 30 minutes to get to I-Drive and the arena site. Keep in mind, there's always a sh*tload of business men, etc. who come from around the country/world to meet at our Convention Center. Those poeple can go to Magic games to have a little fun, or just have a little business gathering up in our skyboxes. ![]() Obviously more tourists will come to games because that's where they always or at (and Disney of course).

Also, about 25% of our fans that go to the WaterHouse live within 15 minutes or less of the arena. Most of our fans come from Kissimmee, Windermere, Casselberry, Sanford, etc. So don't think that this move will make a big difference. Plus, we all know how hectic Colonial gets coming out of a Magic game. Being next to a highway will relieve some of those traffic issues (and sometimes train issues with those damn things always breaking down in front of Colonial). The only issue I see, is the people who have made so much money off parking for all these years who I doubt even have a full-time job, who will have to find other alternatives of money. Probably one of the biggest positives, is the fact that we won't be needing to raise taxes to get this done. This is gonna be a business-funded project and if we need to raise the tourist tax or raise taxes to Florida residents, it'll only be a very small amount. With everything I've said, THIS IS A PERFECT IDEA AND WILL BE SUPER P*SSED IF IT GETS REJECTED. |
