SSSHHHH!!!!! - There will be a different type of atmosphere at the TD Waterhouse Centre on Sunday as the Magic and NBA TV team up for a special "Silent Game". The game will be televised in high-definition by NBA TV with no game announcers, enhanced microphones on the court and a 70's theme. Throughout the special presentation, no music will be used while the game is in play. Sun Sports local telecast of this game will not be affected.

I like the sound effects during the game I think this is going to suck at least for the NBA tv broadcast. Hopefully the anti T-Mac chants and the Arroyo fans will keep it loud.

Maybe I am just a wuss, but it just seems mean to boo T-Mac after what's happened lately. Seems like he's having a rough time.

Yeah... he's having family problems and that's not his fault obviously, so I think not booing him would be a nice gesture from the fans here.

Btw, this "silent game" only apllies to tv, right? Cause I'm going to listen to the game on the radio and I wouldn't like to have a silent game in the league pass... lol

So did it suck? I am not able to see it here in Japan

But it would be probably better than the Japanese casters shouting to the top of their lungs on every play no matter how insignificant it is and calling the players weird names. I still can't get out of my head when a Japanese caster was shouting like a girl about "Michael Jackson". In case you are wondering, it was Michael Jordan's Bulls who were playing

coming into it, i thought the silent game was going to suck, but i liked it. you really feel like youre at the game. there are some announcers that i like to listen to like kevin harlen and marv albert, but for guys like bill walton, id prefer the silent game over listening to him all game.

I was at the game, and besides the timeouts for the '70s theme music, having no in-game music sucked a**. :(

We had to start our own chants, and my voice began to give out by the 2nd quarter (I had enough left to finish out the game  ).

The organ music was HORRIBLE!!!! :(

Paul Porter is one of the best P.A. announcers in the NBA and I'm thankful to have him for all these years. :) :D

It seemed to me like the no music idea really hurt the crowd enthusiasm... Just seemed kinda dull.
