We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. Hi guys. I went to the game and this is what I saw. The good: 1.Arroyo played great and made 17 pts.as already stated. He took over the offense in the 4th Q and brought the Magic back to within 3 with 1 :51 to go. He could it have somemore points, but the ball rattled out of the rim a couple of times. 2. Grant Hill played teriffic against Me-Mac. He was agressive and made some very nifty moves slashing to the rim. His defense was good and he helped Carlos to bring back the Magic on the 4th. 3. Darko played very well agaist J. Howard, blocking his shot twice in the same sequence. Very nice touch from the baseline and his passes to Dwight were right on the spot. His defense on Yao was better than Battie, who couldn't contain Ming at any time. He went inside and was called for an offensive foul that, imho, was BS. I want to see him attacking the basket more and posting his defender. At this point, his moves are really good and they can only improve. 4. The MAgic showed hearth and determination coming back from a 20 pts def. with less than 9 min to go. 5. The crowd was going nuts, specially when we came back down only by 3pts. The bad 1. The game went away on the third Q when B.Hill was calling a play for Hedo on the post. Big mistake. He was guarded by Wesley but Hedo kept insisting on turn around in the post instead of take advantage of his size. the result was 0 pts for the magic and the lead ballooned for the Rockets. Good thing that they quit doing it and were able to almost steal it. :S 2. Howard couldn't catch a break on the post against Yao. His shot was been blocked over and over and the refs weren't given him the All-star treatment they were giving Yao. He was in foul trouble early and seemed that never got into the groove of his game. He'll be fine next time. I like when he shot the ball from 12 ft away. He need to keep doing it. 3. The defense was terribleon the first 3 Q. Pedestrian players like Alston and J. Howard were looking like superstars. :@ 4. Our offense wasn't there in the 1rst half. luckily, theirs either. To summarize it. Is this team can put it together for an entire game, they will give the best team of the league a run for their money THIS SEASON. Arroyo is turning around this team and Hill is looking good. One more good thing I forgot to mention is that Garrity didn't play a lot.

For those of us who have been watching the team all year long, this was a major accomplishment, and one that shows just how much these guys are hungry to win. We have something like a 1-26 record (probably a bit worse) record when losing going into the 4th quarter, but in the past, we'd usually let the other team increase their lead. To win the 4th quarter by 10 points is an awesome feat for this squad, and just goes to show that they aren't willing to back down, no matter how much out of it they are. Arroyo is the new Darrell Armstrong. |

I agree, Arroyo is the spark we have been lacking for a while. I cant wait for next season to see how our team plays. I have no doubt in my mind that if the magic organization keep making the right moves we will be contenders soon. |

Dwight Howard = MVP

Im still surprised at how well Arroyo has been playing. Before the trade I wasnt interested in him, I thought if we got him he would just be a bench and not get alot of minutes. But now he might even be our starter. It depends what happens when Nelson comes back. But I know we're definently gonna have a PG controversy. |

I wonder if you guys did something to be hated there? Or maybe they are just racist.

I think one of the main reasons Pistons fans didn't like Arroyo is that he was a little used player who didn't really fit into the scheme of things. I remember that one year he started for Utah...he was one of the best pure PGs in the league. I was, and still am, very surprised he was under used by the Pistons the past two years. Milicic was the star acquistion in the Cato trade, but I knew Arroyo would come in and become one of our best PGs. I'm just glad that Hill has realized this and utilized him. It's not all about stats...Arroyo is doing so much more at the PG position than Steve Francis ever did. |

They were just ignorants and as we supported Carlos, they started to call us "cheerleaders". They never could or care to understand that. All they cared was that Arroyo was Billups Backup and always claimed he was a sub par PG. There were a couple of racists there too, but as you know, some of those peopleare just ignorants with pre-concieved ideas and it's better not to waste your time explaining yourself. They simply will never change. |
