Is Harrington even that good? I hear a lot of people talk smack about him - Hawks fans included.

i dont know about harrington. he comes off as a "me first" player to me. our guys right now are team players and i like that. unless we can get him for very cheap, i wouldnt try too hard to sign him.

He's 6'9, athletic, can play anywhere from shooting guard to small foward to even power foward. He has always shot a good % from the field, runs the court well and can pull you down 7-8 boards a night. He's 26 years old and since he has been getting 30 minutes of playing time per game he is averaging 15ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.1spg and is shooting 45% from the field in the last 5 seasons. Despite only being 26 he already has 8 seasons under his belt and he is getting better with age. He will be a free agent next season and could possibly be the missing peice of the puzzle.

I think we should just sign or draft a young untaped talent at shooting guard, start Ariza at the 3 and keep on develping our team. Signing a Harrington would take away from the growth from our young guys down low because that is were he does most of his damage. And when the team is fully develped that is when we are ready to make a splash in free agency. With the growth of Dwight, Darko, and jamer completed people would flock to came here.

Harrington might be a good option. Certainly worth looking into. Since the Hawks didnt trade his rights before the deadline, he is up for grabs this offseason.

Harrington is a bad move for chemistry sake.

Great player, but there's a reason he's in Atlanta, and that's 'cause he kept b*tching about his minutes in Indy.

sounds good to me. we should look into it. but dont forget, we dont want to waste a ton of money on one player when we have many options with lots of cap space.

I dont think we should get Harrington. Hes not a good fit with us. He should stay with the sorry Hawks.

Drafting Marbury + Foyle = Championship. \o/
Honestly, and looking at who are the free agents this summer, there isn't much to grab..
They are almost all restricted, and the others aren't worth mauch money.
I'd love to try and get here Prince, but I doubt Detroit would let him go without matching our offer...
If we can't get Prince (I don't know why, but I think he's one of the most underrated players in the league... I absolutely love his game), then don't grab anyone, keep the capspace, give Ariza big minutes over the season, and wait for the summer of 2007.
Just my 2 cents.

damn... double post :P

Anyway, after writting the stuff above, I just realised that this year we will be just a bit under the cap, so we won't be able to offer big numbers to anyone... only in 2007...
So I guess I'll have to stop dreaming of having Prince in our lineup :(
