MagicMadness.net Forum Archive (7/16/04 - 1/5/12)

We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank all Orlando Magic fans who contributed to our little community on the web over the years. This message board started out as a college project back in 2004, and back then I never could have imagined that it would last as long as it did.

However, all good things come to an end. I have moved on to other projects in life, and most of our members here have followed suit. I will leave this message board online as a visual archive into the thoughts and ideas of a group of Magic fanatics that lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance.

Special thanks to our Staff Members: Black and Blue, MAGICMANEVAN, and NYCMagicFan

I'm currently majoring in Information Technology, a field that deals with computers and the internet. It's hard to really explain what Info Tech is, because it's a broad subject, but just know that it basically involves producing and presenting information for users. It's kind of like science...there are many different fields of science that one can be involed in. Florida State offers two different paths of study - an Architecture model and a Technology model. I'm taking classes in the Technology field.

Interesting MM. I majored in Music and Technology and graduated about a year and a half ago. More on the artsy side of things, but had a lot to deal with the internet.
My advice: You'd be surprised how much internet stuff can help you by putting it on your resume. This site is a goldmine for you once you get out of school ;)

I was just looking back and i read this post by MM. Cool stuff especially because im going into be majoring in Computer Science. Well im already in college but i finally chose a major. Im going for my Masters degree, and i picked a really hard major to go for my Masters. With Computer Science there is NO free electives, instead all my electives are more math classes needed for my degree.

I'm a history major, and we basically sit around and... mostly just sit around. Sometimes we read a lot.

My major requires 80 hours of elective credits, which is cool, because I've been taking classes on Astronomy, Art, Music, Religion. I've gotten to explore so many different areas and I've found so many things that I'm interested in. It's been a really good experience (which is a line I've used with my parents numerous times so far).

All the while, I've been working for an engineering firm building semiconductor testing equipment, which is the farthest thing from history that I can think of.
